What a lovely way to spend a Sunday sunset at this classically Sydney place. Great relaxed place in a unique setting. In my opinion you go mostly for the vibe and the food is mainly a supporting act.

Stunning food - amazing oxtail pasta and seafood risotto. Service was a little sporadic and the main courses came out one at a time with gaps of 3-4minutes between each person (which isn't great - the brocollini was cold by the time all dishes arrived). Location is stunning.

Wonderful location on the water at The Spit, with a varied and quality Italian menu (not so good for meat eaters). It is a little on the pricey side with wines at $65+ a bottle and prawns at $12 each, but we had a lovely evening and will return.

An awesome location ! Calamari for entree is a must - so tasty. And pasta is homemade and delicious. (Only not so great thing was the bread - massive hunks served randomly with homemade ricotta - skip it.) Love that Chiosco is byo. Covid safe.

A warm welcome to Chiosco and an easy Covid safe QR code login. We were seated at the couch which was super comfy and overlooking the boats. Our waitress Guilia was fantastic – a wonderful bubbly personality and she really helped us in choosing both our drinks and our food. Gin choices appeared limited however we discovered the gin on offer, Larios, is actually the #1 gin in Europe and was fantastic, served with a slice of orange. Thanks to Guilia for her suggestions. For entrée, all of us ordered the calamari fritti, (fried southern calamari – lemon mayonnaise) and it was delicious and a very generous serve. The perfect start. For main course, I had the tonno (albacore tuna – black olives – tomato – rocket leaves). I ordered it without the black olives (easily accommodate) and the tuna was perfectly cooked and very very tasty. My husband had the pappardelle alla vaccinara (pappardelle – wagyu beef ragout – celery heart – pecorino) which he said was incredible, truly amazing. Our friends had the risotto alla marinara (aged carnaroli risotto – seafood ragout – scampi – parsley) and the cavatelli al pomodoro (cavatelli – tomato – basil – Stracciatella) which they enjoyed. Chips and a salad were perfect accompaniments. For dessert we had the gelato (rich chocolate, vanilla and coconut with passionfruit on top) and an affogato (espresso – vanilla gelato – Frangelico). Both were the perfect end to a wonderful night. Sensational food and wonderful service from Guilia.

Lovely restaurant with simple but tasty Italian food and wines. Service was 'a bit off' on the day but not chronically so or to the detriment of our experience. We sat outside for drinks after we left the restaurant and on a sunny afternoon this was a lovely option.

About the restaurant

We're open from Tuesday to Sunday.

Sibling Rivalry The little sibling of much-loved Ormeggio at the Spit, Chiosco by Ormeggio sits side by side its two-hatted older sister in Mosman, punching out Italian street food in a relaxed, casual setting. Diners wanting tasty Italian fare with sweeping Middle Harbour views without the high price tag have welcomed this restaurant with open arms, while passing boaters looking for a lunchtime takeaway feed are singing its praises. Chef Alessandro Pavoni dishes out meals such as crumbed risotto balls, basil pesto gnocchi and a salad of radicchio, fennel, pecorino and walnut. Chiosco’s menu also includes products from Ormeggio Bakery (come on down organic sourdough), as well as house-made pasta and other baked goodies. Open seven days for breakfast, lunch and dinner, this younger sibling might just pip Ormeggio as the favourite child in the family. Let the sibling rivalry begin.
