Perfect place for a meal before going to the Barbican nearby. Food was really good, service great, not many people there so nice and quiet for chatting. Good value.

Food was innovative for a place that looked like a gastropub.. We shared a starter of =Jerusalem artichoke with mushrooms and some cheese. Tasty, though the acidic element in the mushrooms was strange and the accompanying sauce was bland. My maine of chicken was very good. Confit thigh was arranged in a little cube and skin was extremely thin with all fat rendered off. Breast was tender. Accompanying garlic laced labneh made a good sauce as well as the scant amount of gravy on the plate. Beans on the dish were buttery and still crisp. My companion had the cod which he deemed tasty.. Side of potato with chervil sauce was excellent. Side of hispi cabbage was advertised as being with anchovy but I could only taste caper.
