About the restaurant Comme Chai Toi

"TRADITIONAL OR NOTHING - Bistro spirit and small impish dishes at Saint-Michel! Facing the Cathedral of Notre-Dame in the 5th arrondissement of Paris, you will feel at home at the restaurant Comme Chai Toi: homely and relaxed atmosphere, decor a shade retro, local dishes to devour.

PLEASURE OF THE TABLE - on show at this lair of conviviality are recipes worthy of our grandmothers: foie gras half-cooked with three alcohols or goat terrine, fillet of wild duck or honey-glazed pork chop.

cozy - It is good to stop here for an old school meal between friends or a drink among colleagues."

The stuffed chicken was pretty good - soft with a very interesting stuffing. Same goes for the mash - very creamy no lumps.

The steaks were slightly overdone but still - some of the biggest steaks we have seen in restaurants.

Good atmosphere - place was packed and the views of Notre Dame are a highlight on their own.

The location and service were excellent, the food taste could definetly improve. The steaks were tough and bland, the fish was ok and the escargot was just ok. I suggest they put a little more effort on the food and they could have the making of a great restaurant

Goo value for money. Excellent location with good view of Notre Dame. Unfortumately, it is too nosy.

Excellent wine list. Creatively arranged.

Entrecôte XXL thick like a ribeye steak. Beautifully cooked and delicious camembert sauce

We were surprised and disappointed to find, after reading several positive reviews of this restaurant, that the food was worse than mediocre.

I ordered the duck, which although prepared medium rare, was tough and uninteresting. The sides that came with it were tasteless and boring.

My friend ordered the entrecôte, bien cuit, and it arrived filled with gristle and fat. The frites were merely adequate and on the greasy side.

My other friend’s salmon was simply okay — nothing to write home about. In fact, she thought she could have gotten a better salmon at the restaurant down the street from her home in Wisconsin.

The service was just barely sufficient. We felt like we were putting them out, despite the fact that there was only one other party dining in the restaurant.

If you’re traveling to Paris, chances are you have limited time. Don’t waste your precious hours and money at this place when there are so many delectable choices in the city of lights and heavenly cuisine.

This restaurant is a real gem right across the river from Notre Dame, it feels authentic in an area where a lot of other restaurants seem overly catered to tourists. Delicious French food, lovely wine and if you're able to get one of the window tables then you have a beautiful view of Notre Dame. We loved it!

The cuisine in this bistro is somewhat more original/interesting than in many other places in the city, thus, while they have the classics like tartare de boef, you can also e.g. have faison, sanglier. We had croustillant de perdraux, tempura de gambas, faisont farcis, tartare de saumon and mousse au chocolat. Small but very good selection of open wines. Very cozy athmosphere, friendly staff (who speak English). We have been there twice and will go back.

This restaurant has an amazing view of Notre Dame, with very cool retro music decor. The food was good, but with a very limited selection for vegetarians.

The food was a little pricey for what was served, however the portions were very generous. The French toast was marvellous; definitely a must try as a dessert.
