Was so excited to eat here yet the experience was just a little disappointing-service slow(an hour for our starting plates to arrive) but got better when our server changed. Our food was really good when it finally arrived - but our main was so salty on one dish and so bland on another it was a huge disappointment after two hours at the table. This is the first terrible experience we’ve ever had in a restaurant in France. We asked for our steaks to be prepared well done, but they arrived rare. We immediately asked for clarification, but they made no effort to correct the issue, and said they wouldn’t cook streak well done because “well done would not work for this cut of beef.” One of us tried but could not eat nearly raw beef. It was simply too raw. If that is their policy, then they should have told us so we could have ordered something else. And of course they didn’t take it off the bill, so we paid 60 euro for steaks we barely touched.

The food was really good, drinks aren’t really onerous but the problem was in the service. I guess it is a mistake but we’ve been forgotten for about an hour and waited a lot for our meal. But it’s the only thing that went quite wrong, it was a really good experience

Staff were nice and attentive and we were greeted warmly. However, on the way in, one of the kitchen staff was standing at the back entrance to the kitchen. They were leaning over the fence staring with a very unfriendly and surly expression. We found this off-putting. The courtyard was nice and the trees and plants were pretty. However, once we sat down we immediately noticed that the parasols above us were covered in mildew. Behind us was a scruffy, old chalkboard with a rotten frame. The red wall was also scruffy and needs painting. My partner's chair had bird droppings on it. This is obviously no one's fault but it shows a lack of attentiveness and cleanliness as it was old and dry, so the chair hadn't been checked and cleaned for some time. At this point we actually considered leaving but then someone came to take our order so we decided to commit as we'd just finished an 8 hour of journey. The wine was delicious. However, the food overall was really disappointing. The chorizo toast appetiser was very oily and greasy. So was the pesto penne main dish, which was drowning in oil. It was ok but for €17 it was extremely overpriced. The egg, artichoke and mussel starter was absolutely disgusting and I couldn't eat it. The grey whipped cream was so unappetising. It tasted and had the texture of whipped cream you'd put on a dessert but without the sugar. In my opinion, generally, the colour grey in food is really off-putting. The artichokes had no seasoning, were watery and were obviously out of a jar. The warm egg mixed with cold ingredients, including cold mussels, was really unpleasant. We didn't have dessert.

Interesting and imaginative food with elegant presentations. Friendly, helpful service. It was a little cool in the garden, but otherwise a wonderful experience.
