9/10The standard of the food and the ambience at this restaurant is second to none, however the service levels let the place down with an inexperienced waiter dropping dirty utensils and the dress code worn by the maître de not suiting the establishment. I would love to eat here again but the management need to set standards for the wait staff dress and performance.

9.5/10haven’t been there for years but there is no change to the high standards - as it should be given it is not cheap. the degustation menu is excellent and the service professional and friendly. wine is expensive and limited by the glass. recommended for special occasions.

10/10Never fails to impress! The food was glorious,, absolutely stimulating all senses of the palate! The service measured and non intrusive and the table lovely, with a good view of the interior of the restaurant and a little streetscape.

8/10Rare treat. Kitchen is silent and amazing, the food is a journey and art. Definitely go 7-course with your date. My partner is a chef and she is amazed. Restaurant was so busy with loads of loud-spoken guests holding up our date and table for 2, I don't blame them, It's hard to leave this beautiful fun venue The staff were brilliant and offered a champagne while we waited, All good. Definitely my fave restaurant in all of Australia, I love it.

9.5/10Recommendation from a friend whom I thank whole heartedly! We had a fabulous meal with excellent attention to detail and professional service without being intrusive. When we visit Canberra again we would love to go again to Courgette.

9/10Food was excellent, although a tad small in serving. Service was average as some service staff lack attention to the orders. Overall pleasant night out.

4.5/10The food is mediocre and very small portions, the service attitude is poor for this price.

10/10Courgette had just the right atmosphere and lovely food to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Enjoyed the in house cocktail 'Paloma' loved it. I enjoyed the salmon entre, followed by the beef main and the desert a chocolate creme brulle with and exceptional baffalo yoghurt sorbet. YUM.

7/10The food was amazing! The chef really knows what they’re doing! Our server sort of ignore us and spent a lot of time at other tables besides ours, the bloke in the red shirt who took our payment was super lovely and saved the service! :) thank you!

9.5/10Courgette has a excellent selection of European haute cuisine dishes with fresh ingredients and innovative mixtures of tastes. The wine list is strong with a good selection of Australian New Zealand and international wines. Courgette is a good restaurant for a special occasion and fine dining.

3/10Extremely disappointing. All meals bar one (dessert ironically) came out cold to luke warm. Expressed this to wait staff when they asked how everything was, only to be told to wait there with no explanation. About 5mins later the chef/owner appears to tell us he doesn’t believe us and then went on to say it’s supposed to be like that. We were left confused to the whole scenario, we were never disputing the bill and to be called liars after dining there pretty much summed up the night. Have had many great fine dining experiences and unfortunately the only comparison was the price. Food portion size was small, no stand out meals, most dishes looked the part but were bland, service well below par. We thought we were lucky to get a last minute booking, now we know why. Avoid.

7/10Initial service was quite good. It dropped off as night went on. 7 course degustation took 2 1/2 hours. Way too long between courses. Had to line up at till to pay bill to leave. Food was good but felt they were resting on their one cap reputation.

You say zucchini, I say Courgette
Courgette is to restaurants what Bentleys are to cars – seriously luxurious. Located in the heart of Canberra city, expect French, fine fare from this frequently gong-winning restaurant. Dishes may appear to be simple but they rely on the freshest of ingredients and adventurous pairings to delight diners – and they've managed to collect chefs' hats every year for the past three years. Whether you want a three-course lunch or four course a la carte dinner, you had better be prepared to make some difficult choices. You should also ready yourself for dishes that delight the eye and sing on the tongue. Try the roasted Jerusalem artichoke, asparagus and eschalot with garlic foam, hazelnuts and lemon dressing. Alternatively, you may prefer the black Angus grange fillet of beef with pomme fondant (very fancy mashed potatoes), French lentils with heirloom carrots and olive jam. Expect courteous staff, well presented food and quality wines matched to your meal.
Best dish: Prosciutto wrapped, pan-seared scallops, confit chicken wings with pea mousse, lemon olive oil balsamic reduction
