We were a group of 7 traveling in Douro. We were staying a little bit away from the restaurant but decided to go there based on earlier good experience. We were not put down. The location is of course stunning. The food was fabolous and the overall experience just great. Highly reocommended.

This was a lovely dining experience from beginning to the end. We arrived early so we could sit outside on the terrace overlooking the river. Started with a lovely beet salad and leek soup. Both were delicious. Chose the special of the night which was Octopus with roasted potatoes and the Risotto with asparagus. We enjoyed both and shared with each other. Ended the evening with the chocolate hazelnut tart with raspberry sorbet and the recommended port. A perfect ending to a lovely meal.

A gorgeous evening on the terrace. Our group enjoyed a bit of everything from starters, entrees and desserts. The food was authentic and well prepared and portion sizes were plenty. Both the food and service were excellent as well as the ports. Don’t skip the homemade gelado!

Excellent meal and service in a beautiful winery restaurant overlooking the stunning Douro River and its steep vineyards. My wife was very impressed that she was offered gluten-free bread with her meal as well as very good guidance from the server. Lovely estate wines from Quinta de La Rosa. Would definitely recommend and return

The food was delicious however, we felt that thie interor lacked atmosphere. Definitely go for a table outside. The view is beautiful. The service lacked warmth and engagement. We weren't offered another wine with our meal, and when dinners left, the tables were left uncleared.

A lovely experience. The restaurant is located overlooking the Douro river and we were fortunate enough to have a table on the terrace outside (a table was cleared for us). Service was attentive but not intrusive and the food excellent. Highly recommended.

We had high expectations for this restaurant based on the past reviews and difficulty securing a dinner reservation. Make sure to book well in advance if possible. This restaurant is a short drive on a narrow road from Pinhao. You need to take an elevator down to the restaurant and the restrooms are one floor up. The restaurant itself is beautiful with a nice outdoor patio. It was fairly busy but not completely full when we arrived at 8:15. We were 15 mins early but were seated after a short wait. Unfortunately there was a shortage of menus so we had to wait for a while before we could order. Overall the service was very disorganized. The staff seemed inexperienced for a restaurant of this quality. They frantically went back and forth without accomplishing much. Our waiter varied though the night, we we never asked if we wanted another drink and messed up dessert, which was the only time I saw any attempt to be friendly. On a positive note, the food was good. I had the mushroom soup special which was nice and we both had the black pig tenderloin which was served with truffle mashed potatoes. We shared the lemon sorbet tart, after a mix up. Overall, I recommend this restaurant based on the food and beautiful location. Maybe we catch the staff on an off night

What an outstanding dining experience. We were celebrating our 12th Anniversary and asked to be seated on the rail. The rail wasn’t available but we were seated on the patio and my wife was under a portable heater. It was a cool evening so she was ecstatic about having the heater. We weren’t very hungry so we only ordered entrees. My asked if she could get the Ravioli starter as her dinner and they said absolutely. I had the black pork with mushroom and truffle mash potatoes. Both were outstanding. The waiter helped us pair a bottle of their Chardonnay with our meal. It was exactly what we wanted. We ordered a dessert to celebrate our special occasion. It was a warm apple crumble with vanilla ice cream.

They just miss the mark. There is nothing personal or special about the service or environment. It feels like a dimly lit hotel restaurant versus what they claim to be / want to be. Too many people waiting on you, no actual or "real" engagement. It's like they want to get you in and out. Even how they welcomed us when we entered - they asked if we had a reservation, acted like they couldn't find the reservation (which they did to everyone & we did have one!), then sat us, never acknowledging "oh yes, here's your name! Welcome!". I had made a request for a seat against the window in my reservation. They never acknowledged my request. Luckily, there was a window table available but we had to ask for it. Our food came before the bottle of wine we ordered (which we ordered BEFORE the food. Meaning we waited a LONG time for our bottle of wine.) A HUGE faux-pas. All adding to not feeling settled and then rushed. The main dishes were good. The appetizers were boring and bland. But what was most annoying - there is a QR code at the hotel check-in with the "current menu". I even asked the person checking us into the hotel if it was truly the current menu because i was really excited / looking forward to things on the menu. I actually might have / probably would have cancelled had I seen the actual menu. Barely anything, like the fois gras, were on the actual menu.

The four of us had a reservation for dinner. Much needed as the place fills up fast. We had to wait to see a menu as apparently they didn’t have enough which was odd. Service was slow. Food was good but as others had mentioned, high priced. But probably expected as this is a tourist area in the Douro. It is located on the river but the view is just ok. Parking is tough. We would probably try another place if back in the area.

We had a great Octopus as dish of the day and a really tasty Iberico with superb side dishes pretty presented. The atmosphere and the service was warm, welcoming and attentive. Great wine and view, fair prices! We would like to visit Cozinha de Clara again.

The restaurant had a wonderful ambience. Service was very good and helpful in understanding the various dishes. Perfect location for a relaxed and good meal with an exceptional view. Definitely recommend it.

Good food, Mediocre wine, non existent service. Food well made and well presented. But everything else about this place ranged from mediocre to terrible. They even forgot to serve part of the order. Had high expectations coming in but left with mixed feelings.
