10/10Lovely restaurant with great service. We had an upstairs seat which was a bit quieter, but it was a very busy restaurant! And I can see why! Delicious food and wine, and a lovely setting. Would recommend.

9/10Da Gigino has had the best pizza of all we've eaten thus far. It's all handmade and locally sourced ingredients, The wood fire oven gives the tops of the larger bubbles on the crust a well crisped/roasted flavor that enhances its ingredients. Those that ordered pasta dishes were highly satisfied as well. I would definitely come back with my family!

10/10Our dining experience was so enjoyable, we came back the following evening. The gnocchi was the best we have had since first dining in Florence over 30 years ago. Our favorite was the gnocchi stuffed with ricotta cheese with a truffle sauce. The service was excellent and the staff was friendly and helpful. Also so tolerant of my efforts at speaking Italian. The restaurant is conveniently located in the center of the historic district in Sorrento. Would highly recommend dining here while in Sorrento.

10/10The whole experience was superb. Service, food, atmosphere, the restaurant has it all! The best part of our experience was the owner’s daughter checking up on our experience and then telling us she had a book about the family that included recipes. If you are in Sorrento, book a table. You will be pleased

10/10We had a reservation and our table was ready and waiting when we arrived. The food was excellent. My daughter had the best risotto she’s ever had in her life. She didn’t order any other risotto on the rest of our trip because she didn’t want to be disappointed after that. Presentation was also excellent and the rest of our family enjoyed our meals too.

3/10Really disappointing. The servers were busy chatting amongst themselves and put off by having to serve the diners. The restaurant is right next to the fish market so it stinks. We chose to sit inside because of the smell. We had made a reservation in advance, otherwise we would not have stayed. Took forever to get drinks (water) and to have our order taken even though the restaurant only had 4-5 tables. The prosciutto and melon were great. But that’s it. The Caesar Salad dressing tasted like mayo with anchovy paste. Half the pizza crust was burnt. When we asked for a lemon (thought it might lighten up the salad dressing) they appeared to be put off. Overall all, bad service and mediocre food.

6/10I tend to give a lot of thought before I comment on a restaurant experience that was not as expected. Having spent decades in the hotel industry, I recognize things do go wrong. What defines a good establishment from others is how they respond, and this is perhaps one of the worst. I spend a lot of time researching restaurants I would like to dine at on our trip to Florence, and on Oct 3rd made my reservation for the 16th. It has exceptional reviews but being a foodie I went there after studying the menu! We arrived a little earlier than our reservation and they asked us to have a drink in the little bar next to them until they were ready. Took the time to power up my email and there was one from them reminding us of our reservation and directed us to their website to check out their menu while we wait. Got seated and looked at their menu and thought something was out of place. Yes, their prices on the website were lower than their menus!! I have NEVER seen this so I pointed it out to the manager who glibly said “yes”, so I asked what was the real price? He says “the menu”. That sounded ridiculous considering I showed him the website menu. Anyhow, I chose to stay so I chose to pay. After a bit, a server took our orders, and my wife asked for black tea to soothe her throat. She was told they did not have any! So I flagged down the manager and said “my wife wants black tea, do you have any?” He said they did so I asked why the server said they didn’t! Again a glib response The meal was good - nothing exceptional, the mozzarella with black truffles were definitely overrated and my steak had grizzle. No staff came to ask if I’d like more wine, it was as if we didn’t exist! I wanted to see where this leads so I sat back and waited. Over 20 minutes after our plates were cleared the bussing staff asked if we’d like dessert and menus were offered. Another 20 mins later the manager come with his well orchestrated smile and asks if we’d like anything. At this point , I’d had enough and told him I’d like the cheque since serving us clearly wasn’t their plan. He acted surprised, and profusely apologized for the service and claimed the owners change prices - blah! Well, here you have it - a thoroughbred tourist trap! If they get an award for anything, you know what it should be for

4.5/10Food was average. It felt like you're in one of the Olive Garden chains in US. We were squeezed in on the 2nd floor that has no character. Waiter even suggested to include tip.

10/10Tucked away in a bustling side street, this place is charming. Lovely food that reminded me of my Nonna’s cooking and the waiters were helpful and friendly. If you want a table outside on the pavement ( best place to be) you will need to book in advance
