I can highly recommend coming here. The food is Italian with a bit a fancy twist. Staff was very friendly, prices were ok but with 20% off from the fork really good. We had honey lemon crusted shrimps as starter, then two pasta and the steak as main and hot chocolate cake as dessert. Everything was really good !
Excellent food, service and atmosphere. We had the house red and it was amazing. Couldn’t fault anything. Real hidden gem in Rome and we would happily return!
We are a family of 4 visiting Rome for the first time and selected Danel Tavernae for our first dinner here. Stefano and his wife Elisa served us a superbly cooked and delicious Italian meal. The atmosphere is cozy and peaceful; a perfect place to wind down after a long day visiting the sites! Heartily recommended.
DanEl Tavernae is our favorite restaurant in Rome. The chef is a genius. Her creations are beautiful, and some of the most delicious food we have found here. Stefano the host completes the experience. We always want to bring guests to DanEl to share this “secret” part of our Rome experience
Locale carino ed accogliente, la proprietaria simpatica ed attenta alla clientela
Was very average to be honest I quite liked the caramelised prawn starter although not really caramelised only sweet and dusted with icing sugar. The pasta dish was nice but was not happy with the pork dish was chewy and filled with gristly bits. Only ate small amount of it.
We enjoyed a relaxing evening at DanEl Tavernae and had the opportunity to taste both the classic Roman dishes as well as a few of the specialty pastas. The food was terrific both in presentation and taste. It was helpful to have made a reservation
Really nice, small restaurant, charming host, excellent traditional food in modern and elegant dishes. GREAT place for a very nice dinner!
What a great find, had a beautiful Christmas lunch here, food was amazing, the host was welcoming and made me feel very comfortable, I definitely recommend this place.
Something horrible happened at this restaurant on Christmas Eve. The menu was set—all guests would have a sequence of the seven fishes. Given the rave reviews the restaurant receives this seemed a safe bet. It wasn’t. The courses went from bad to laughably bad. The French couple at the next table wondered whether the chef was “on acid” or “smoking dope.” It was that bad. Lowlights included a bizarre pasta with carmel sauce and shrimp tartar. The bony seabass arrived with cold bluish broccoli atop cold puffs of mashed potatoes By cold I don’t mean inadequately heated—I mean right out of the refrigerator!! Over the course of the evening the person who apparently owns the restaurant mingled less and less until she finally disappeared altogether. Smart decision. We couldn’t leave quickly enough and should have requested a full refund. Memorable Christmas Eve for all the wrong reasons!
2 yrs ago when in rome we stepped in this restaurant by chance. It was superb then and is still superb now. The chef is so innovative that I am always amazed with what she does. Yesterday was great. Simply great and wld go there again and again. Thsnks to the fork we also got a 20% off.
Number one restaurant in Italy!! Fabulous food fabulous service. It was an amazing experience. Thank you
This place was absolutely amazing. Great food and the service was amazing. The gentleman that served us was the nicest and most helpful person ever. Best food in Rome!!!
Beau restaurant, beau plat, belle personnes. A recommander
Wonderful place with great food and warm service. Loved it !! This was not the typical Roman food or restaurant. The attention to detail is obvious
One of our best dinners in Italy in general and Rome in particular. Simple preparation with outstanding results. Definitely need reservations and definitely worth a stop.
Attractive restaurant, pretty even, with some different creative dishes. The carmelized shrimp were excellent and also the gnocchi and the sea bass. Our server was most welcoming and we learned that his daughter is the chef.
Looks like a traditional, old-fashioned trattoria. It’s not!...at the price it may well be one of the best meals I have had in Italy. Okay, I was there with my gorgeous girlfriend, which obviously added to the romantic feeling:)
