A rare pearl among our careful selection of the best addresses right now

Appena entrati colpisce il grande spazio dedicato alla cucina, aperta sulla sala, col lungo bancone – il Tavolo Saltinbocca – che permette di cenare vis à vis con lo chef patron Daniel Canzian e lo staff. Proseguendo, la sala è ampia e ariosa, con tavoli ben distanziati. Giovane e affabile il personale di sala, lo chef spesso esce a fare due chiacchiere con i clienti. In estate lo spazio antistante al ristorante diventa un micro garden dedicato al rito dell’aperitivo. Daniel è stato a lungo il braccio destro di Gualtiero Marchesi, chef e maestro di tanti grandi cuochi. Un imprinting che riecheggia in uno dei principi di Canzian: “La linea di cucina che ho sposato nobilita la semplicità e si basa sul concetto di togliere, ossia di sottrarre tutti gli ingredienti ‘di troppo’ presenti in una ricetta”. Ciò detto, lo chef ha una sua maturità e linea gastronomica e propone una cucina creativa e moderna, dai sapori ben riconoscibili grazie a ingredienti freschi e di stagione.

Fra i piatti più significativi, i risotti, ad es. quello al limone, sugo d’arrosto e liquirizia oppure il Minestrone di verdure in versione contemporanea (con “brodo” di pomodoro), l’Uovo di selva “in cereghin”, lo Sgombro in crosta di quinoa, o il Maialino da latte caramellato. Fra i dolci, menzione speciale alla Sfera di cioccolato omaggio ad Arnaldo Pomodoro: una sfera di cioccolato accompagnata da “caldo” al maracuja, una salsa versata all’ultimo che fonde il cioccolato e dà l’effetto della scultura. Il pane che arriva in tavola (in vari tipi, pan brioche, focaccia, grissini), è home made. Il menu offre diverse opzioni, oltre alla carta. A pranzo ci sono tre differenti business lunch (da 18, 23 o 28 euro) o Cinque assaggi dal mercato, piatto unico ogni giorno differente. Tre i menu degustazione: Alla scoperta di…; Tradizional-mente e La cucina si reinventa ogni giorno. Un plus: per i bambini è stato studiato un mini menu dedicato.

    Daniel is one of Milan’s premiere addresses. Simply a “must”. First class. We had a great time there, at lunch with my son, today, as always. Well done Daniel & team!

    We had just arrived in Milano and reserved at Daniels by chance. We felt very welcomed right away. Daniel introduced himself and we could enjoy watching our food being prepared by a great team of chefs. First we got a cappucino cup filled with a tasty soup made of broth, bread and mustard. We had ordered st petes fish sizilian style and gnocci on a anchovis sauce both good choices.As a main course we had ravioli and a cuttlefish gulash both very well Presented and tasty. At Daniels they bake their own bread which was offered with An excellent olive oil. Ending the meal we choose a delicious tiramisu and some treats from the patisierre which was a surprise. The wine from Felluga was a terrific blend of sauvignon and chardonnay. Food prices are In a good range, the wine we found a little overpriced. We had a wonderful time watching dishes being prepared and before we left we got a tour of the kitchen.

    The starters were good, also the service, bur Wine serving - 2 small glass of white wine and 1 dessert wine for 25€ was less than expected. Finale we had to wait and ask extra for the coffee and paying took to long 25 minutes.

CORDIALITÀ - Nella zona nord della città di Milano, a pochi chilometri dal cuore del centro storico, sorge il Ristorante Daniel. Un ambiente elegante e raffinato, ben arredato, dove non mancano mai cordialità e tanta cortesia da parte dello staff di sala. L’atmosfera che si respira all’interno del locale è tranquilla e rilassata.

INNOVAZIONE - In cucina vengono utilizzati esclusivamente prodotti freschi e genuini, per garantire piatti di primissima qualità. Lo chef rivisita con creatività e modernità le ricette della tradizione e riserva molta attenzione all’impiattamento delle portate stesse.
