Dans le Noir more than dinner, it's an experience. Since is a surprise menu, they have the challenge to prepare dishes that will suite everybody's taste. On the other hand, because you are not seen what you are eating, you are not predisposed to the flavor that you would expect if you would know what you are eating. We went for 3 steps menu paired with 3 glasses of wine. Every dish included 3 different preparations. In general, I liked the food, some bites are tastier than others, but all in all good.

The original concept was something that intrigued us. We were disappointed in the lack of translation to English as most people were Spanish. The food was mediocre and not anything like pictured on the website. All and all, the experience was cool but lacked in food quality. There was really no ambiance to speak of. Glad we experienced it, but we would not repeat this.

Hello Karen, thank you for your feedback, it's important for us to know every detail we can improve. As our restaurant is located in Madrid, our staff speaks mostly spanish, even if we can provide a service in english and french. We are surprised of you comment about the translation as all our staff introduced you the concept and debriefed with you in English. Your blind waitress made her best to give you the greatest service posible, taking into account that everyone haven't the same opportunity to learn other languages perfectly. About the menu, we sorry that you didn't enjoyed it. As our menu is surprise we know that we can't convince everyone. Our concept is about get rid of prejudices caused by seeing, we show the picture of our new menu after the experience, not on the website (it would ruined the surprise). Besides, our website is international and included also pictures of other restaurants Dans le Noir ? in the world. Thanks again for your sincere opinion, kind regards from all the team

Esto no es el típico restaurante. ¡Es una experiencia! Lleve a mi novio para celebrar un ascenso laboral y estuvimos muy a gusto, conocimos a personas maravillosas, realmente te desinhibes en la oscuridad. Si eres una persona claustrofóbica ( no es el lugar para ti) si vas de resaca del día anterior, es mejor que lo cambies para otro día, porque esto te agudiza los sentidos! El camarero Jan es todo un experto muchas gracias por tu servicio.

Muchas gracias Maria por compartir tu opinión, Que bien que hayas captado la esencia de nuestro restaurante a través de la experiencia sensorial, social y humana única que ofrece la oscuridad. Efectivamente, como bien dices, la oscuridad puede impactar en principio, aunque en cuestión de minutos nos adaptamos a nuestro nuevo entorno. Algunas personas con claustrofobia consiguieron pasar un buen momento ya que intentamos acompañar al cliente en cada momento, adaptándonos a las necesidades especiales de cada persona. Really interesting experience! Something you can't really fully imagine until you experience it. We enjoyed ourselves and we will be back. Our only complaint was how long we waited between meals/drinks. from when our entree was taken to when our dessert was served took so long, we thought our server forgot about us... I would say that was the thing that needs to be paid most attention to. Otherwise really cool experience!

We apologize that the delay between drinks and courses seemed long to you. However you passed the usual time in the dining room... Being in the dark, without mobile phones or watches, make that we don't perceive time the same way. We are pretty sure the the waiter didn't forgot you. Nevertheless we will not hesitate to check the facts, and invite you to take advantage of this time to share anecdotes with your server guides, who are always happy to answer your questions. El sitio es fantástico , la atención es de 10, tanto la dueña Mayte como Alex. Pero para mí cabe destacar a Sam, hacía mucho que no me reía tanto, cuanta inteligencia emocional junta! Una experiencia que sin duda nunca olvidare .

Our waiter Sam was one of the nicest waiter there was. He gave us great insights to our questions around blindness and about his past. Being in the complete dark puts you in the same playing field and suddenly it’s as if you were taking to a friend at night! The experience was wonderful and the service was exceptional, we would recommend everyone to go there.

Fantastic experience, recommend once in a lifetime. You are gently guided to experience food and humanity like you never do everyday. For once you are the one who needs to trust someone else blindly and you will never regret it. Not telling everything, don't want to spoil the fun.
