De Bok is my favorite place in The Hague. The owner and staff are great and the food is always fantastic. You get simple and yet succulent food, fresh products of great quality.
Cool place to be in summer for a refreshing Guiness (best one in The Hague btw) or a rock shandy for instant. And best place to be in winter or during these rainy and windy autumn days that only Holland knows how to throw at us. Sunday brunch with friends are an absolute must.

Dining here is a time travelling experience. The Decor has an old worldly timelessness that relaxes, helps unwind the busy mind and gives one pause, to enjoy choice culinary excellence.
Wines are carefully selected with the expertise of years, exquisite personal taste and the joy of pleasing their international clientele.
Personal touch, panache and elegance with a flair of witty humour sets you at ease whether in a group or alone.
My Buffalo steak was cooked to perfection with garnish and accompanying vegetables completing the feast.
My partner's beef steak was cooked to order with gravy of choice and accompaniment showing the joy of cooking in this establishment's kitchen.
De Bok is an oasis of a pleasurable mix of remarkable traditional cuisine; a restful haven with personal touch gentility.

This place was a hidden gem! A very cosy place for a beer and hearty food. The lady who serviced us was very warm and friendly. The menu was very comforting ... reminds me of the British pub lunches! I ordered the pie and chips ..very tasty and the puff pastry was rich and buttery , just as it should be! When I asked if they had vinegar for my chips, they provided me with Sarsons vinegar - that was a bonus! The dessert menu didn't disappoint either - some traditional British desserts such as trifle and apple pie with hot custard. Overall, this is a great place cosy to unwind and I recommend especially to Expats who are missing a taste of British! (They serve a full English breakfast too)

A relaxed atmosphere with a gentle method of service that ensures a pleasant evening of excellent food and 'gezelligheid'. Quality 'open wine bottles' and the provision of tap beer augment the experience. From a delicious Buffalo steak cooked to perfection to stuffed fish rolls and even good old fashioned fish and chips, it is akin to the best grandma provides. A quality evening of freshly cooked quality meals in an enjoyably collected curiosity shop decor, a heartwarmingly homely culinary joy awaits you

Great restaurant with a lovely hostess, Rachel. Hidden down a back street, this restaurant offers speckled hen beer and English cider on tap as well as a wide variety of tasty meals.
We love it!

This restaurant was a random find based off of a google search & walk around the Hague, and I couldn't have asked for a better place!

The chips and dip that ordered went around the table and came back empty... it was that good.

The meal just got better when we got our entrees. I had the marinated steak, and it was perfect. I would come back here in a heartbeat.
