About the restaurant De Noordmolen

Restaurant the Noordmolen has been a Schiedam institution for over 40 years. That makes perfect sense; a dinner in this historical mill is hard to forget. The interior is embracing like a perfect coat: it's cozy, softly lit and warm, and the thick walls make for perfect acoustics. The menu is classic European and offers a tasty selection of both fish and meat.

The host was extremely friendly, food was absolutely delicious! We were able to watch the sunset from the window on the second floor; I got some really good pictures of the canal. The host offered to take pictures of me and my friend as well, saying “it’s not often you’re in a windmill.” Great experience!

Server was very attentive, but food took a while to come out, even though there were only two parties of 3 in the whole restaurant We didn't order appetizers, so no food until the entrees... not even bread. Portions were a bit small for the price, but very delicious. It's a novelty to eat in a windmill, so you're paying for the atmosphere too.
