We ate here a week ago, during a weekend trip in Arnhem. We ended up here due to the positive reviews on iens. The place was slightly hidden but not very difficult to find, despite the fact tomtom didn't recognise the address. The parking lot was almost full but we could still park the car. Then we entered the restaurant. At fost it thought it must have been a mistake. The decor was quite old fashioned and not cosy at all. For sure not something for a romantic dinner, but well, we were there...
When entering I mentioned we reserved a table for 2, but the waiter looked a bit puzzeled, I still don't know why. We might have looked to young to be there?
In the end, when the food came, it all turned good. Nice food, with local products, perfectly prepared. Compliments to the chef!
Also the wine cart was impressive, unfortunately most of the wines were only available by bottle. We had the Sekt, which was very good, the white house wine and the Bourgogne that is available per half bottle. All very good wines, served at perfect temperature.
I an totally recommend this place, don't get put off by the slightly old fashioned decor. In the end I got to appreciate it as having its own charm :-)
And when we left, amazing smells were still coming out from the kitchen. :-)
