5/10The food was edible and there was some variety; fish, chicken, vegetables, gnocchi and salad. There was a soup starter and the desserts were reasonable. The restaurant was more like a works canteen, with no atmosphere, no decor, no real wine choice. Just large with many tables laid with cutlery and glasses. For what it was, the cost of £20 per person was reasonable. The bar server allowed us to sample the wine as he had no idea what it was and there was no wine list. However, the breakfast served in the same restaurant was of better quality and a very good choice. We were disappointed that the porridge was 'make your own with hot water', which we've never bought ourselves and wouldn't expect in a restaurant!

7.5/10We ate from the 2 course menu that was included as part of the 2 night offer. When we were presented with the menu it came with a very limited wine choice which was printed at the top of the set menu. As wine was at our expense we found this strange so we asked for the full wine menu which we were then presented with. My partner ordered bread with flavoured butters to start; the bread was excellent but the butter appeared to have just been taken out of the freezer, it was very difficult to spread and the flavour was impaired as a result of the freezing. I ordered the arancini balls which tasted okay but were very heavy and came with a very dense cold sauce. A lighter warm sauce would have been a better option. My partner had a chicken main course which he said was excellent. I had spaghetti in a tomato sauce with veg balls. The spaghetti was very soft and clearly overcooked. The veg balls had the consistency of mush and the tomato sauce was flavourless. The restaurant was lively and the staff were very attentive, professional and friendly. The following night we decided to eat at the bar. My partner had a beef burger which he said was very nice. I had a beetroot burger which was so overcooked that I couldn't get a knife through parts of it. I ordered tzatziki to go with my burger which was probably the worst I've ever tasted. The bar area was lovely, very tastefully decorated and a pleasant place to eat/drink. Very disappointed overall with the veggie meals that I had.
