About the restaurant De Zevende Hemel

Seventh Heaven it is!

From outside these bright blue canopies you sure there is something beautiful hidden inside. Restaurant 'De Zevende Hemel" literally takes you into Seventh Heaven, with their delicious cuisine and wines. In this fine area of Groningen, near the New Church, you can enjoy their biological and fresh food, also for the veggies among us they have some nice specialties on their menu. When the weather is nice, they can open the patio doors so that you can enjoy the summer breeze within the restaurant. You can also sit outside on the canopies for dinner, but these tables are very popular!

The food is okey but nothing extraordinary. Everything well cooked but sightly boring for my taste. The meat in the first and the second course was the same, the risotto was an aromatic rice and the we did not like the pannacota.
The atmosphere was a bit outdated and the waiter we had seemed to be very new.

It is an old school place and it has its public but it is a bit shady and the service could be better

We had yesterday dinner there. There were two waiter who were taking care of the orders (one of them was a piano-player as well). They offered us to select our own place to seat, which was really kind. Then all the orders and drinks was taken and everything tasted very good, fresh and in a very good quality and decorated! I rank it as very good as a nice local restaurant in Groningen. On top of all, they had options for vegan people like me as well :)

the vegetarian first course was suberb. the main course was tagliatelle, but the pasta was tough, so one of us even did not eat half of that,
desert was nice, but not zceptional,
service was a bit slow. for three courses we were thre nearly three and half hours. I had to wait for 6 min in order to pay our bill,
