As usual the food was faultless, however, there was not enough staff. Mainly one waitress waiting on all tables with occasional help from a young man. We waited a while for sauces. We intended to have a dessert and hot drinks but after some considerable time waiting, our table still not cleared or asked if we wanted desserts we paid and left. A Birthday lunch a little spoilt. But the food was great!

Well, I like reviewing and have to say having visited Mother Kelly's many times since 2008 last night was 'poor', now.... Maybe it was because we booked for 19:30 after watching a film at the nearby Port Solent, which had plenty of options to dine, but we thought no Mother Kelly's on way home be just dandy. WRONG... Arrived bang in 19:30 place was ghost town with 3 other tables occupied, two eating one waiting for service, we entered were shown a table in the window (table 4) and chose our food from the menus, (my partner wanted scampi as usual, but a sign on the counter said Sorry NO scampi) do she chose Steak and Ale Pie, after about 10 minutes the solitary waitress came to our table to take our order on a tablet... We ordered asking for the Pie... to be told NO Pies left, So rethink, ahh Fish bites then abd a large Cod and trimmings, thank you, by this time Just us and one other table of patrons remained.... After about 10-15 minutes the food arrived, the fish bites well batter bites with fish is more apt a discription, my fish was okay, but was triple batter.... Obviously end if night for them, nothing in booking to say service stops at 8pm I had the choice of many later times when I booked on The Fork.... Disappointed and much like the Country you actually come to expect the disappointment received..... I have other bookings over the next Month with The Fork.. hopefully those restaurants are better stocked and the food is 'nicer'.... I really hate giving poor reviews but you put your head aboveground and you'll possibly get shot

Went with Friends to Deep Blue Fish and Chips (Ma Kelly's) Paulsgrove today. We all had a lovely meal and really enjoyed it. Food was cooked fresh and Piping Hot. Staff very friendly and efficient. Will definitely be returning.

For few users the service was very slow. We waited 30 mins before order taken. The whole time was 2 hours for fish and chips and desert which seemed excessive. Although the staff were friendly when attending they did not seem to go the extra with offering more drinks etc. We also had to pay the bill before our desert. Great food, hot and tasty but for this food outlet to improve they need staff support training.

Took our grandson. Gill served us and couldn’t me more helpful or lovely - particularly engaging with our 7 year old grandson! Cod and chips perfect topped off with Ben and Jerry’s ice cream!

Visited for our 40 wedding anniversary and we were so glad we did. A truly wonderful plate of fish and chips wonderful service with a smile. Even a complimentary drink for the occasion. What an evening would highly recommend.

All very good, no negative comments. Good service, food and environment. Car parking easy and the toilets were very clean. We had booked in advance, We were greeted on entry and shown to our table that was clean and set up for us. An overall good experience.

Everything was excellent, there was a large group of us, no problems with taking orders, every one said food was great and one person said the pie they had was the best ever. Lovely atmosphere we were able to take our time. I would highly recommend

Made very welcome. Easy parking. Did feel a bit of a pillock as I did not realise to order at the counter. Never mind I was able to relax longer in the air conditioning.

We were a party of 4, we all enjoyed our lunch, curiosity got to us to try a new item on the menu, as well, basically gherkin in batter, certainly an acquired taste, but served with a fresh side salad & salsa. All the meals were cooked fresh to order, large portion’s, considering Senior meal’s,are for the smaller appetite, we all struggled to finish, so no room for puds. The only thing we would like to raise, is please can we have bigger plates next time, as difficult to fit the sides of peas/ beans on the plate, as served in a dish, on the side.We will be booking again soon, using the Fork App, for a 20 % discount, on our first app order.
