About the restaurant Del Duca

Fantastico! Great setting, standards and service. We had the tasting menu and let them choose the wines for our courses. Claudia could not have been more attentive with her explanation, information and timing of her wines with the food courses. The food was great and the bill was less than I was expecting to pay based on the wine served. If you want a quick "in out" meal this may not be the place. If you want a great dining exeperience, eat at Del Duca.

Probably the best presented steak tartare in the world and certainly the best pigeon anywhere. Mood and service fantastic and a must go if in this part of Tuscany. Thank you for a lovely evening.

Absolutely fabulous - creative dishes that tasted amazing and were beautifully presented. My favourite was beef carpaccio with blue cheese ice cream. But they also do classic Tuscan food

Exceptional restaurant in Volterra. I had heard good things about the Bistecca alla Fiorentina from a relative who had eaten here last year. I was not disappointed. A 1.4kg steak perfectly done al sangue has been the highlight of my culinary adventure in Italy so far. The staff were also very friendly. The service was exemplary and my fiance and I were given a nice seat in the garden. It was quiet, secluded and an overall perfect experience.

Many of the eateries in Volterra seemed to be bustling with tourists and hungry locals, but we were invited into a relaxing and peaceful setting in the garden. The stone wall courtyard removed the noise and you could enjoy your meal. The Tuscan menu was delicious as well as portion sizes.

We had a wonderful evening here last night.
Started with the waitress offering a crisp prosecco.
I had a gorgeous truffle carbonara, the fresh pasta was excuisite and the delicate use of grated truffle made it probably the best thing I've eaten in Tuscany.
My husband had wild boar bresaola with a very creamy and rich fondue.
Main course was tasty and perfect in size, Sausage stuffed guinea fowl, artichokessnd asparagus sauce. My husband had the Suckling Pug with white beans, beautifully cooked with crispy crackling and soft light meat.
Puds were good but I think in Italy it's best sticking with ice cream style desserts.
Over all it was a gorgeous experience in beautiful surroundings with friendly informal service.

Good food, nice setting, and good location. Unfortunately the courtyard was not open, but the interior is pleasant. The wine list is a bit on the expensive side.

A lovely table outside on their patio was just the thing on an August evening. The food was delicious and the wine paired nicely. It was especially nice that they took my husband's need for gluten free food seriously and offered him some very nice choices. I would certainly go back.
