10/10Fantastic service and great food! Almost feels like being at home, and the Danish music in the background together with the Danish interior styling was perfect! The perfect place if you’re a Dane who have been in Australia for a long time and misses “smørrebrød”.

10/10This was a wonderful dining experience! I honestly felt like I was back in Copenhagen or Stockholm, Sweden (which has similar local cuisine). I would definitely recommend it to anyone who has spent time in Scandinavia (and likes Scandinavian food).

8/10Place wasn’t really busy, lucky. As there were only 2 people on the floor. Service was quick though but you kinda feel awkward when you get their attention room without being too pushy. I’d go back again for the Eb wine glasses, smorebrod and give them another chance in 2023. I recommend !

8.5/10We loved our first visit to Denmark House. The lunch menu was just right for Melbourne's unpredictable weather this November. The options were perfect for temperatures from 15-30 degrees! We'll return again soon.

10/10Couldn’t find any fault with this, our first Danish eating experience. We shared 5 of the sandwiches including the garlic prawn, crumbed rockling, chicken sous vide and beef brisket. The chicken with its smoky mayo was heavenly. A good introduction to a new cuisine for us and we’d definitely go back.

10/10The serves are very small, so you need to eat quite a few sandwiches. It can end up being a little expensive. Otherwise, the food was excellent, as was the service.

10/10It is always a delight to visit Denmark House. Not being able to eat here during Covid lockdowns was such a hardship. Smørrebrød is always delicious and I’m pleased to hear that they are now open for dinner on Friday nights again. Don’t hesitate to make a booking. You won’t be disappointed!

Unless you have Nordic blood, you probably haven't been to Melbourne's Danish Club. The Danes are renowned for creating clean and simple dishes, and Dansk (housed on the third level of the city's Danish House) is the epitome of this kind of cooking. If you're not a member you'll have to sign up at the main door, and the feeling of exclusivity is electric. Inside pale-oak floorboards, exposed beams, funky furniture and lighting are a reminder of why the Danes are also known for their design skills. The menu features contemporary Danish cuisine created by chef Bente Grysbaek: a herring platter, wiener schnitzel and a dessert cheese platter (featuring only Danish cheeses of course) are some of the shining stars on the menu. Its time to get acquainted with this northern cuisine. Try something new, you won't regret it!
Best Dish: pork and veal meatballs served with braised red cabbage, cucumber salad and organic rye bread.
