We thoroughly enjoyed the food at Dom Pipos. Sandra was very helpful in guiding our choices of both the food and the wine. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting to eat a delicious traditional Portuguese meal.

We enjoyed the fillet steak cooked on a hot stone at our table, the vegetables ,chips & local red wine were good too. Very friendly & helpful attention from Sandra & her mother who said this is one of the oldest restaurants in Alvor!

Nice décor (attention to detail as well - all the plates were set so the writing on the bottom faced you. It's the little things...), very clean, friendly and welcoming (even though we didn't speak Portuguese) and they took our order straightaway (but we did often get mistaken for Portuguese). The food took a little long to get to us but it was well worth the wait. DELICIOUS!!!!! Would go back just to eat there again. Bacalhau grelhado com batata frita was perfect!
As with most places in Portugal, if you don't want to pay for the bread, don't eat it and send it back. Especially if it comes with butter, cheese and olives...
