Usually this is a fantastic restaurant anc we have a great time. Great location and great menu choices. This visit we hit a few problems and the food and service was not good. They ran out of the choice which was served cold and offered to reheat it in the microwave but it was seafood so we declined. In fairness they didn’t charge for the main course but we both ate alone so defeated the whole evening which was booked for a special reason. The amazing singer made up for everything though and the general manager was very kind and helpful after. Better luck next time we will visit again and give them another chance.

We all ate the same meal which was a lunchtime sandwich so not really testing the establishment. Everything was very nice, it was a beautiful day and we sat outside. The staff were really friendly and helpful

Had friends with us from Selsey, and our friends wife has major allergies, and the staff really helped her get a great meal from the menu. Well done guys. Our friends were really impressed.

The Greeter Station was unmanned. Tge woman then showed up badly dressed badly presented and no smile or welcome. She was not creating a good first impression. Loud drunk guy to tge riggt shouting into his mobile phone on speaker made the bar feel like an old school taproom. No one behind the bar & noone keeping this man in check! Decor is warm & inviting. We were seated in a nice room. Service was exrremely slow & lax. Food came out quickly and was very good. We gave up waiting to order more drinks and went to the bar instead to pay the bill & leave. We stood for some time as noone was at the bar. We paid and left. Summary Good food & atmosphere with poor service. The experience could have matched the food with well trained and dressed staff. Disappointing Sunday Luch Experience 2 STARS

Another great lunch today. Fish and Chips were stunning and a good size portion. Chicken Milanese was also huge, nicely cooked would like the aioli to have more garlic, but still good. Fishcakes were a nice size and well cooked. Also had The Chipotle Chicken Bites, love these and the chilli jam. This time we tried The Lemon Meringue Flames Alaska, loved this and looked and tasted Devine .

Fantastic friendly service right from the beginning. Lovely waitress. We ordered small plates, PIl PIl Prawns good portion, would be nice with more bread to dip in the chilli oil, Chipotle Chicken Bites, loved the smoky chilli jam, would love this as with the squid or the Brie as it went with all and I love chilli.. Tempura Squid in salt & Szechuan pepper, with aioli was great. Lamb Kofta really nice, I do think all the sharing platters should have 4 items as three is doesn’t work for two people. Duck liver parfait also lovely but needs more bread. Overall great lunch out and will be back.

We are never disappointed when we go to the Duke's Head. The staff are all really lovely, knowledgeable about the food and drinks on offer and nothing is too much trouble. On this particular visit, they had had a significant flood on the previous day, so they were still busy clearing that up, but managed to cater to us at the same time. All in all, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking for a nice meal out. The place is beautifully decorated, has some lovely relaxing furniture outside of the restaurant and there is a good selection of food on offer.

The 3 of us all enjoyed our meals. The pub looked very Christmasy and the staff were welcoming and friendly. In the past I have requested, and got, a table in a carpeted area. This is important as my 2 guests have trouble hearing when restaurants have hard floors. Your carpeted area is now for private parties only. This is a pity!

We had an overall good experience at The Dukes Head. The new decor is lovely and cosy, makes a more high end environment. The menu is good although we were surprised at the absence of sliced onion with the burger and sweet potato fries. We had to pour the wine ourselves although we were nearly the only people there and there were a lot of staff setting up tables around us. So service could have been better.

My friends and I visit The Dukes Head on a regular basis because the food is consistently good, the atmosphere welcoming and staff extremely helpful. On this visit, which was in celebration of a birthday, chef was incredibly helpful in making the experience very special and he and the servers all sang happy birthday to the lady in question at our table. The service is always outstanding.

We really did not enjoy the food. My salmon and vegetables were covered in butter, smothered! My sisters twice baked chips were horrible, tasted like leftover! And the service was not great!
