The restaurant was lovely. Staff were polite and helpful. Food was lovely. Plenty of it. Just a very nice afternoon. We are returning in December.

Disappointed- they had no record of my booking, many menu items were unavailable and the waiter said he could change veg etc to our preferences but then didn’t. I wouldn’t call it a brasserie from the standard of food.

Decor felt like it wasn’t thought about as very little matches. Big issue was the food - ordered sirloin steak and the meat was so thin it couldn’t be cooked rare and it came medium/well, vine tomatoes weren’t vine tomatoes, no house slaw arrived as advertised and the worst part was the ‘lightly spiced wedges’ straight from a freezer bag as we buy the same ones for at home. Very disappointing considering the dish was close to £30 and felt like they had cut corners at every opportunity. Never would expect a chef to use frozen chips from a shop and pass them off as their own. Won’t be recommending or going back again

Everything we asked for was not available - drinks and food. Balti was dreadful - just hot, no flavour. No popadoms, offered an extra naan. Wouldn’t go again, wouldn’t recommend.

Pork ballotine was delicious ????and not very noisy place. Although it is in the high street. So four of us really enjoyed it.Will definitely be back again

The Brasserie is in the centre of Oxford. The service was excellent but the food was not great, as a trainee chef I knew there was no point sending it back as my replacement would not have been any better. The restaurant was pretty much empty apart from one other couple. This was on a Saturday night when all of Oxford's restaurant were bursting! Music soundtrack is really bad pop music! I won't go back. If they get a new chef, this place would be packed. The service is great , good price point and a fantastic location. It's a shame that the kitchen doesn't know what it is doing.

Drinks were very good value for money as we were in oxford the prices were cheaper than most. Good value meal would have happily paid full price.

The restaurant was nicely decorated, clean & comfortable with a good ambience despite being very quiet with only two other tables occupied. We found this odd on a busy Mothering Sunday lunchtime. It soon became apparent why it was so quiet. The service, whilst pleasant & friendly, was terribly slow. There appeared to be a manager & 1 waitress. After being seated for 20 mins & having not be offered menus or drinks, I went to the bar and asked for menus. I was told they would be brought shortly & were delivered 5 mins later. We ordered drinks which came approx 15 mins later. As it was quiet I am not sure what the delay was due to. Our food order was eventually taken and we waited another half an hour for the food to arrive. My lamb chops were so fatty that I only had 4 bites of actual meat, although accompanying potatoes & vegetable were good. My friends pork had been incinerated and inedible. Her meal was replaced and we were not charged but it came a good 20 minutes later after the rest of us had finished our meals. It is such a shame because we felt the restaurant had so much potential but sadly we will not being going back.
