My wife and I ate at el Chato tonight , we were made to feel very welcome, the service was very good, the food was excellent I had belly pork and my wife had pork shoulder both were superb, the best desert ever was the fried milk, ( not as it sounds) I would say it’s a cinnamon bake panacotter . Amazing. Highly recommend this place away from the usual tourist restaurants . ..excellent

The restaurant is very easy to find on the high street, with ample street parking all around. It has a clean, 'sophisticated' interior and an extensive menu & the wine is correctly priced - no rips off here!

Great food from a menu that offers good choices of starters, hot or cold, and main courses. Presentation is fabulous. The wine list is excellent with quality wines from most Spanish regions.
Jose the M.D. is attentiv e and helpful.
At 035 to 40 euros per head for pre dinner beverages, starters and main courses, with 2 bottles of quality wine ( Finca la Colina, probably one of the finest Sauvingnon Blancs in the world, and Pago) this is value for money.

A seriously good restaurant. This was our 2nd visit this week and once again we were not disappointed .My wife tried their taster menu and had nothing but praise while I went for THE most outstanding T bone I' ve ever had. Both dishes are for two and I can confirm that our friends also rated this meal very highly. At around euro43 per head, including pre diner drinks , 2 bottles of quality wines and tip this is good value.El Chato is clearly a favourite for the Spanish -the place was packed by 22.50.Highly recommended - and don't forget to make your reservation first.Almost forgot -Jose the MD and his charming daughter Sarah make visiting here an unforgettable experience for all the right reasons.
