3.5/10The view at El Lago is absolutely stunning, and the service was good, but unfortunately, the food did not live up to Michelin standards at all. For the price, I expected much more. My starter was a cannelloni of tuna and avocado, but it came with an odd piece of thin fat, which the waiter insisted was from the avocado—something I found quite strange. The main dish, bacalao, was extremely dry and tough, like chewing gum, with no real flavor. Even the ratatouille looked and tasted like it came from a can. Overall, very disappointed with the meal, and had I seen a review like this beforehand, I would have thought twice about coming here for a quality dining experience.

9/10amazing setting and impeccable service. The Burrata and tomatoes were delicious. The cod was also very good. My husband had the steak and asked for medium but it was closer to rare.

6.5/10Not as upmarket as it used to be. Food was fine, but lacked the sophistication of a few years ago. I find it incredible that a restaurant of this quality allows cigarette smoking on the terrace in close proximity to other diners.

10/10The restaurant was amazing. One of the best meals I had , with creative and beautiful dishes, and fresh and surprising ingredient. In addition, the service was above and beyond, they catered to every request and did it with a smile.

5/10We were here a year ago and we thought that some of the disches were very simmular to the ones from last year. One of us is alergic to nuts and they just removed the parts with nuts and didnt replace it so it was borring. The service wasnt the same as in the other michelin restaurants we been visiting this year. It took almoust the whole night before the bread crumb was removed from the table. We thought the wine was served straight from the fridge and think it was served straight from the fridge and was to cold in my opinion. Maybe our expectations were to high because we really liked it last year but it wasn’t at the same level this year.

10/10We had an exceptional dinner at this restaurant. We opted for the a la carte option. All the food was top quality, and the strawberry millefeuille was so good that we ordered more. I don’t think I’ll ever be happy eating a different millefeuille :) The truly amazing part was the service - our waiter and the sommelier were faultless, very knowledgeable and accommodating. We would definitely happily return and highly recommend this restaurant. P.S. I had 1) chicken millefeuille 2) wild turbot 3) baked apple tatin. My husband had the 1) retinta loin tataki 2) goat’s shoulder 3) strawberry millefeuille. We also had a consommé, bread, amuse-bouches and petit fours on the house.

10/10El. Lago absolutely blew us away. I went with my best friend to celebrate and everything was perfect. The staff went above and beyond to cater for our dietary requirements. Everyone was so pleasant and the food was delicious. You can clearly see how deeply the menu has been thought through and the pride the team take in what they've created. The wine with the food went perfectly too. Meeting the head chef and bringing home our gift to commemorate such a wonderful night was the icing on the cake! A very well deserved Michelin star and I wouldn't be surprised if they got more in the future!

10/10This is what we picture a Michelin restaurant to be. They attended to all of the details. The wait staff was very attentive and friendly, the food was fantastic, and the atmosphere was better than expected (it is part of a golf resort, so I had my concerns). Overall a wonderful experience!

8.5/10The service was perfect, we had good advice for wine, some of the dishes were just ordinary, not that interesting, as we were expected, some of them were really great, especially desserts! All of the desserts were delicious!

5/10We dined at El Lago on one of the first cold nights of the autumn, it was immediately clear that service had been set for dining on the terrace. We were seated on a somewhat exposed table and my wife made it immediately clear that she was cold, the waiter brought a large blanket and lit the space heater. That made it bearable but not comfortable. When asked about seating indoors we were told that this was not possible. We ordered the 85 euro, 3 snacks plus 6 course taster menu. The steamed bread & faut butter just didn’t work and the other 2 snacks we non descript. Of the 6 dishes, the Red mullet and the goat were both good, tasty and worthy of a Michelin restaurant the rest fell short on taste and any overall theme for the meal. The wine paring was very reasonably priced but did nothing to enhance the dishes and were average supermarket quality. Overall this fell well below the standard I expect and have consistently received from other Michelin star restaurants and was nowhere near value for the inflated cost. There are a lot of very good eateries in Marbella, I will stick to those next time!

El Lago, supuso toda una apuesta de un grupo empresarial, por crear un restaurante diferente, provisto de campo de golf, con una cocina atrevida y un servicio personalizado. El restaurante se encuentra situado en la casa-club Greenlife Golf, entre los hoyos 1 y 2. Ofreciendo el marco incomparable de un lago. Presenta una decoración contemporánea, destacando su terraza, considerada una de las mejores de su entorno. El Lago desarrolla una cocina moderna con personalidad propia, basada en la gran calidad de sus productos, en una buena técnica de elaboración y toques de creatividad. Todo esto se ve reflejado en la estrella Michelín que el local recibió en 2005.
