El Rincón del Segoviano - Hotel Acueducto

The Rincón del Segoviano is a hotel restaurant and is quietr than the main city restaurants get. The place was emptywhen we first walked in for Sunday lunch at 15:00. So, not much atmosphere, but then it was quiet and totally not chaotic as many restaurants touting for the Sunday trade tend to be. We had a large table, with plenty of space, next to a big window with a view of the Aqueduct. The food was really very good: we had a starter of tomato bread with Anchovies (excellent), a salad (nicely dressed and elegantly simple), and some surprising croquettes (4 cheese, and 4 "suckling pig"), also excellent. Then we had the suckling pig itself. The pièce de resistance in any Segovia restaurant. Well prepared, tasty and just the right quantity for the 3 of us. Excellent. The only gripe came on the bill: they charged us 3 euros EACH for the chunks of bread they placed on the table for us. I really can't see ANY justification for this and for this reason lowered the "value for money" from Fair to Correct.
