Excellent
This is a local gem which serves interesting and beautifully cooked Portuguese food with a novel way of presenting its comprehensive wine cellar. Added to which, the proprietors are always warmly welcoming and generous. The grilled perch and the wild boar stew were delicious and the chorizo sausage starter unusual and also delicious.
Everything was on best level. We really enjoyed the evening. We will come back! Never seen such a variety of red wines in a restaurant before. The service and the food were just exellent.
Recomendo.
Went to Em Banho Maria with my family after seeing consistently high ratings. The restaurant was easy to find, plenty of parking and when walking thru the door you felt like you were in someone’s house. The staff was very friendly, menu had plenty of choices including numerous beef options, one being Waygu, which someone at our table had, which we thought is typically a more tender cut. Unfortunately it was the total opposite and that particular steak was not very good. Mentioned it to waiter who inquired in kitchen and he said it was the cut and preparation. All else was quite good including the mussels and shrimp in garlic and oil. Overall, a good experience, just stay away from the Waygu
We enjoyed an excellent family evening at this quaint little restaurant. Our waiter was extremely friendly and helpful and the food delicious. The atmosphere is authentic Portuguese as is much of the menu. The Serrano ham was the best we’ve ever eaten!
Second time here and we’d definitely come back again. Quaint restaurant in the village and is popular. Reasonably wide menu - good choice of steaks if that’s your thing, or a number of fish dishes. Traditional and delicious!!
Wonderful restaurant with fantastic service
Really good place to eat. The owners are polite and helpful and it’s great value for money. Would recommend
Excellent all round!
Excellent food in a lovely (quaint) setting. Small place with very friendly and personal service. Trust the owner’s wine recommendation and don’t miss the chocolate cake!
Nice restaurant, typical old style barn converted which gives a lovely feel. Service is great, food is good. Worth a try.
Typical Portuguese food. Lovingly cooked and friendly staff
A lovely place but unfortunately we were very cold.
We really enjoyed our meal although the restaurant was quiet & lacked atmosphere on the night. Staff very friendly. The restored barn is quirky & interesting. Definitely go again!!!
Traditional Portuguese food in high quality and with excellent service. Impressive selection of wines and nice decorations
Reataurante muito agradavel, com ambiente tranquilo e acolhedor. Vitela de comer a colher é excecional! Recomendo.
High Quality regional food . nice atmosphere, friendly Serice and moderate prices. A good place for foodies.
Appealing interiors, poor cuisine (veal steak - very stiff, octopus - nothing special at all comparing to other restaurants around Peniche, even boiled potatoes - not even ready. But! The sea bream was really nice. And here comes the service. We ordered the sea bream for two people (13,5 eur which is more than reasonable). And in the end it turned out that the waiter decided that we ordered coastal sea bream, which is 35 eur/kilo. So the fish in total was 43 eur. And for that price you easily find a better fish restaurant.
A brilliant restaurant. Thoroughly recommend it. All dishes were totally delicious and the service impeccable! 5 stars.
Excelent service, quality of food (apprtizers, main dishes and desserts)., and ambience. Thank you!
