9/10I always wanted to try this traditional restaurant. A friend of mine ask me to go there because she really liked it. The veal was excellent as well as the big shrimps. Many guests also recommend the chocolate cake which was really good. The service people were helpful and very friendly with the wine finding. I will come again very soon. Thanks 😋

9/10Very welcoming staff, the food was good and typical, the place was very warm with a fire stove. The restaurant has a very good wine selection. The price was a little higher than what would be expected for two people, given the location. All in all, we enjoyed very much.

8.5/10This is a local gem which serves interesting and beautifully cooked Portuguese food with a novel way of presenting its comprehensive wine cellar. Added to which, the proprietors are always warmly welcoming and generous. The grilled perch and the wild boar stew were delicious and the chorizo sausage starter unusual and also delicious.

8.5/10We enjoyed an excellent family evening at this quaint little restaurant. Our waiter was extremely friendly and helpful and the food delicious. The atmosphere is authentic Portuguese as is much of the menu. The Serrano ham was the best we’ve ever eaten!

9/10Second time here and we’d definitely come back again. Quaint restaurant in the village and is popular. Reasonably wide menu - good choice of steaks if that’s your thing, or a number of fish dishes. Traditional and delicious!!

9/10We really enjoyed our meal although the restaurant was quiet & lacked atmosphere on the night. Staff very friendly. The restored barn is quirky & interesting. Definitely go again!!!

5.5/10Appealing interiors, poor cuisine (veal steak - very stiff, octopus - nothing special at all comparing to other restaurants around Peniche, even boiled potatoes - not even ready. But! The sea bream was really nice. And here comes the service. We ordered the sea bream for two people (13,5 eur which is more than reasonable). And in the end it turned out that the waiter decided that we ordered coastal sea bream, which is 35 eur/kilo. So the fish in total was 43 eur. And for that price you easily find a better fish restaurant.

10/10This is a lovely little restaurant in the heart of the village with lots of ambience and tradition to back up the delicious food. Only down side is that there’s not a lot of choice for young kids but my 10 year old son really enjoyed the lamb but he is a big meat eater. The restaurant recommended what was ham egg and chips for my 7 year old which was a huge portion so she needed help!!! Highly recommend going here but you’ll need to book.

10/10We booked this evening meal having left for Portugal at 3am that morning. So we were looking for somewhere that was relaxed, friendly and with good food, and the Em Banho Maria met all of this. The restaurant is set in a very quirky barn with lots to look at and is comfortable. The warmth of the welcome was very good, and the food was delicious and very good value for money. We didn’t stay for long because we were all tired, but we will definitely go back. It’s well worth a visit if you are in this area.

9/10Very friendly and a happy, eclectic place. Mother and son interacted with customers. Menu is a "passport" and has an English section. CASH or bank transfer (such as popmoney) only. NO CARDS.
