The service and the variety and quality of the meal was excellent. I couldn't fault anything. I would certainly go back again. My 2 friends were impressed with the quality of the food and service.

The team at the Entree Training Restaurant have excelled again. All 3 courses were presented beautifully and cooked to perfection. The service was good and the ambience pleasant. We are looking forward to our next visit.

our group of 6 are long time supporters of the TAFE hospitality restaurant. Disappointed that we were limited to 2 of each course at our table, but food was very good, as was the service. The only issue we had was the 2 fish mains were served cold (Ocean Trout) and had to be sent back. Otherwise all good, and we will keep going back.

The students do a great job. We always enjoy our time at the entree training restaurant. And of course the price is so reasonable. The high tea was particularly good.

We have been going to the TAFE restaurant for 20+ years and always enjoy seeing the students striving to present the best quality food, and give great service. Last nights meal was a buffet, the first one since Covid impacted everything. Food was really good with a great spread of hot and cold food, and the service was also excellent. Special mention to our table waiter Justin for looking after us.

As always - there are many positives in what this team tries to achieve. The presentation and quality of buffet selections were wonderful. Much effort was devoted to creating a dining “experience” for guests, We had an enjoyable evening. Recommended.

The buffet in my opinion was small in selection but plentiful, however, they missed some popular dishes like chicken, fried rice, and mussels. Prawns were good and cold. There was no fruits or cheese. The lamb curry was a hit as well as the salmon. The beans were perfectly cooked. The students did their best in service. I probably would come back again to support the students and teacher.

The room is unwelcoming and freezing cold even when wearing a coat inside. Service staff students were great and they tried to do their best thought the night. The beverage list had a small range of non-alcoholic drinks and we ordered Chai Latte which can be bought as powder (Woolworths and Coles sell 10 bags for $3.25). The waiter took this order yet returned saying "we don't serve coffee tonight". We explained that Chai Latte was on the menu and that preparing it did not require making a coffee, and that all was required was taking a powder sachet and mix it with hot water similar to preparing tea. After speaking to his supervisor, the waiter returned saying "we haven't been trained to make it". The chef has changed recently. Coincidently the food preparation, quality and presentation changed with him. It became a disappointment. Today we observed this chef came out from the kitchen around 6.35pm; we thought he was going to speak to our table because we had a special occasion having called weeks ahead (and called again called last week) to confirm a specially prepared vegetarian dish (just 1 plate). To our surprise, the chef actually came out not to speak ro us but to kiss a lady sitting on a table behind us (table 3). He hovered around that table for the next 5 minutes before heading back to the kitchen. When the mains came out, our "specially ordered vegetarian dish" revealed itself as... garnish from another main. One person ordered trout and the only difference between the trout main and our "special vegerarian dish" was a fish fillet on top of the garnish on one while the "special vegetarian dish" had garnish only with the fish fillet removed from the plate The booking manager knew that it was a special occasion and that our vegetarian party flew from Melbourne. Yet, the supervisor on the night said that the booking manager mentioned "veg dish" and the chef thought that serving garnish from another main was good enough. We had another dinner booked with the same arrangement. When asked, we were told that our vegetarian party would again be served same garnish veg from some non-vegerarian main. Upon hearing this, we cancelled that booking - customers should not be treated this way.

This is always a lovely place to eat. Though the staff are learning, we always enjoy the food and service. Great to see opportunities for young people with a disability.

Tonight’s meal was superb. Probably the nicest dessert I have ever had. The cocktails were fun and went well with the cuisine. Best of all is our server Daniel. He is fun courteous and attentive. He engages with us and we feel as if we have his personal attention. We will ask for him to serve us at our next Entree booking.

An absolutely delightful evening ! The quality of our 3 course dinner exceeded expectations. Our drinks were reasonably priced and served promptly - while the overall service can only be described as exemplary. After dinner, we were presented with a complimentary cheese platter, that was such a generous surprise from staff. Highly recommended.

This is a training facility and meals are offered at an excellent price, so it's not the place to come for a "perfect" experience. But the fact that many of the wait staff are students at TAFE who are building their experience is part of the charm - they are very sweet young people, a little unsure but eager to help. Both the wait staff in front of house and the student chefs in the kitchen are supported by trained professionals (the two head Front of House staff members are experienced professionals who are training the students, and the head chef is, I think, a TAFE lecturer as well). I would encourage the student waitstaff to just have more fun with the serving experience, be more confident and chatty with the diners. And listen to what we are saying - I said to one waiter 'thanks very much, the food was delicious and the waiter responded 'did you enjoy your meal?'. I think they are following a script, but I would encourage everyone to just relax and enjoy talking with the customers. The student waitstaff also seemed to jump in fright anytime I asked a pretty simple question like 'are we able to split the bill'? or 'do you serve decaf coffee?' Some students seemed quite scared actually - my advice would be to just relax! The food was quite good, the highlight for me was my friend's absolutely delicious salted caramel and chocolate mousse dessert which I tasted. Man, that was good. By dessert, I was quite full, and the kitchen kindly packed up my cheese platter dessert in a container for me to take home. which I really appreciated. It was a bit of a stilted ending to the evening, as soon as dessert is done there's a clear sense of "it's 8.30pm, so please pay and go immediately" which is fair enough, it was just a shame as I was having such a nice time chatting with my friend but I understand the students and staff want to go home as soon as service is complete. The student chefs who came out and said hello to each table were absolutely lovely, very professional and confident. It's a nice place to go to catch up for a mid-week meal with a friend, and the price is very good. It was also a nice experience to go support local students and see them learning their craft. I'll definitely go back.

Comment not criticism, we will always support Entree Training Rest. Cauliflower entrée was unpleasant, Salmond main was well and truly overcooked & tough. Staff were caring & courteous as was the Manager. Unfortunately for the first time food was below par and the music was too loud for general conversation. Looking forward to our next visit.
