Fish is superb. Chips are pretty average. Great food overall. They should rearrange the tables and have better decor if they want more customers.

This Neighbourhood local is fabulous. Freshly cooked, served with a smile, delicious and always my favourite midweek meal. Love that Adam always makes us feel welcome!

Like a number of clued in locals, we keep coming back here. From the splendidly spicy fish curry to the grilled octopus and the yummy range of fish and washed down with the good Riesling what’s not to like. All at reasonable prices. Adam, the young owner has done a great job. Thanks

Luckily we were seated outside on a beautiful evening. The staff were courteous and the food was good. We were with friends from Melbourne and the four of us enjoyed fishmongers.

This fish and chips restaurant is the best in inner city Sydney. Clean, friendly and most importantly the food was the best and plenty of it. The fish and chips and Greek salad as well as the octopus was devine and delightful. Came up from Melbourne and this is going to be my restaurant from now on.

Our second visit to Fishmongers didn’t disappoint. All four in our party had a different meal & all four of us were very happy with our choices. Despite the small kitchen, the chef supplies fresh seafood served in a multitude of different styles & flavours & the accompaniments match this high standard….all delicious & in very generous portions. The service was swift, helpful & delivered with a smile. A new favourite eatery for us.

Wonderful seafood and very well cooked. I had barramundi in Portuguese sauce and it was wonderful. My wife had prawns in Teriyaki and vegetables in Teriyaki and she was very happy with that.

Having booked a table with the fork, we referred to the email confirming the address and spent some time finding a parking for 42 Hall street, the address on the confirmation. The restaurant was NOT at that address and we then spent more annoying time finding where the restaurant was, and then finding another parking. This was not a pleasant start to the evening. I also found the stools with no backrests very uncomfortable. The food was excellent and service too.

Not much atmosphere but genuinely good honest food Service ok. Location good. We had the fish cakes which were unreal then the curry which was even better!
