One of the best food experience I had in my life. Service was perfect, the place even more interesting and don’t make me start with the food (un decile). Thanks guys and bravo to the chef !
Just a perfect evening, staff was so sweet and took really good care of us. The food was beyond expectations, traditional but still complexe and so tasty, the wine was excellent, perfect combo! We will definitly come back ????
The best place that I’ve ever been!
The food was excellent and the service was even better. Didn’t like the stools though as it wasn’t the most comfortable of seating. Atmosphere felt a bit dull but really liked the setting and decor overall. We booked on the Fork with a discount code but they charged us in full and we only remembered later on.
A lovely venue with well cooked, if basic food. Service was friendly and informative, if a bit slow - one menu between five tables doesn't help!
I enjoyed dinner!! I hope we can use credit card.
Excellent, attentive service and delicious food, stunning wine list and local craft beers. Overall a wonderful experience!
Lovely ambience with stone walls and little nooks and old wood furniture. Staff were helpful and smiling and delightful throughout. Our meal was excellent and very reasonably priced. A must eat place when you're in Porto. Tip: bring cash they don't take cards.
Attractive setting and attentive service, but the food was bland and very disappointing.
It took too long to be attended and served. Far above the normal standards
We had the pork cheek and chorizo to start, both were delicious. We then shared the salt cod with garlic mash which was fantastic. To finish we had the local cake and then cheese and port. Including a bottle of wine our bill came to €69 which was very reasonable considering the amount we had. The style is modern Portuguese and the dishes are beautifully finished. Choose to sit upstairs for the best atmosphere.
This gem of a restaurant is well worth a visit when staying in Porto The restaurant is cosy and the waiter was really friendly , very informative with the food on the menu. The Food was a very high standard Fish was delicious Not expensive prices Definately will return to this lovely restaurant
The place is too expensive to not accept credit cards. The service was good and so was the atmosphere. The food was mostly average with the exception of veal.
Caldo verde is great. Friendly staff. The place make you get into the Poet's mood. Such a shame they don't accept credit card.
We found this to be a very cold restaurant both in temperature and engagement from the staff. Food was average. A real shame as this was booked for a birthday celebration but sadly it didn't meet our expectations.
The setting is very charming and atmospheric, and the waiter was really helpful with the menus. There were some good dishes, such as charred chorizo that is traditional for Porto. However ultimately a lot of the food just wasn't that nice, such as mushy sausages and a very artificial tasting pomegranate ice cream, that was pretty much inedible.
Oldest restaurant in Porto with contemporary presentation of many Porto favorites plus unexpected items too! Very cool setting. Friendly & helpful staff that speaks many languages. A true winner that Lonely Planet gives a star (not easy to earn). Don’t miss it. Louis R
Lovely setting, good service, menu looked well but food lacked either imagination or taste. Starters (mushrooms, sardines in vinegraitte dressing) might as well have come from a tin. Veal steak came with no sauce, potato chips (i.e. crisps) and pickled cabbage. Baked cod was without taste unless you count biting into a whole garlic clove. The window behind us was opened at the request of our neighbouring table but without any consultation with us. It would have been nice to be asked.
Amazing little restaurant - oldest in Porto and so stylish. Tucked away up a little alley the staff were so welcoming - service great and everything we ate was delicious. Here for a few days more so we have booked again.
good service good food and nice ambience
