About the restaurant Flor dos Congregados

Excellent food, and the staff were great with describing each dish and offering recommendations. Great value for money, and a cool ambience too. Definitely worth the trip, but make sure you book ahead because it's popular!

Hugo and his colleagues are true hosts and artists ... they made us feel so welcome and spoiled us with delicious, well prepared dishes, lovely wine and perfect atmosphere in this very ancient setting in old Porto.

Really enjoyed this meal! The service and atmosphere were great. We are both unable to eat gluten or dairy and the server was very helpful in finding something; the menu was more limited probably than average (they were out of many items) but what we had was great!

Excellent meal, lovely waitress who explained each item in English, cool place with a calm atmosphere. We made a reservation but there were empty tables while we were there, possibly because it was a week night. Reasonably priced (2 starters, 2 mains, dessert, and bottle of wine for 50€). Only downside was that we couldn’t pay with card and had to go find an ATM.

We came for lunch and immediately made dinner reservations for the same night- delicious food and wine! Very picturesque restaurant in the downtown area. The special pork sandwich is to die for, and the cheese board is well curated. The menu seems to change depending what is available and in season, but the veal and sea bream dishes were very tasty and well prepared.

The food was decent but not up to the rave reviews we have seen. Portions were large, but not distinguished and there was some concern about the freshness of the Bream. The Lamprey. however was very good. The veal OK. Sops were Ok as well.

Really nice place with a great service. I had the backelhau specialty but I didn't realise it would be that salty. They were very kind to offer me another dish instead. The others enjoyed their meals very much. And the wine was wonderful.

The tiny alleyway led up to this lovely restaurant with a rustic interior - perfect for portonic cocktails and delicious food, including chorizo and terylene starters and fish mains.
We were very well looked after by the staff and it was a pleasure to spend our first evening here.

We enjoyed our evening and thought the food was good service excellent but found the restaurant a little quiet. There was a piano in the restaurant and it would have made the evening special if it had been played. Maybe if you go on a weekend you will have a pianist playing.

The service was really really good. The waiter was very friendly and he even apologized for forgotting to bring spoons for us. The atmosphere of the restaurant was relaxing and the background music really suits the whole ambient. Unfortunately the food was only average for me.

It was okay. They don't accept credit cards. The waiter disappeared from the second floor for 20 plus minutes. Oh, you pay downstairs, not at your table. As the waiter airs " we don't like to mix money with food and wine". Not our favorite place, but we did enjoy our meals. My husband had the 6 hours cooked veal, but it looked and tasted like beef. I had the sausage with game it had a really good taste, just not as solid as we normally think of a sausage. The chairs become uncomfortable after 2 hours of sitting. Nice staff, but a bit aloof. Good food, but they are trying too hard to be ecltic and future modern with their food. My husband enjoyed his grapefruit beer. Don't believe we could recommend this place to good friends. Still, some of the dishes did taste good. Still, a very nice atmosphere.
