Antico e moderno, campagna e città. Flora & Fauno. Non è un elenco ma l'insieme delle scelte stilistiche che, sotto diverse forme, compongono l'identità del ristorante ospitato all'interno dell'hotel “Ville sull'Arno”. La location è arredata in maniera country chic, con mobili in legno e stampe e decori floreali alle pareti. Un gusto per un ambiente rustico, ma raffinatissimo, che raggiunge l'apice nella piccola veranda adatta ad ospitare piccole cene private (solo su prenotazione). Ma da Flora & Fauno è possibile anche cenare a bordo piscina, immersi nella natura ma guardando l'Arno.

La combinazione fra antico e moderno si ritrova anche nel menu. Lunga la lista degli antipasti, in cui la tradizione culinaria toscana appare, mixata con la creatività dello chef, in piatti come la rosa del Chianti con panzanella al bicchiere e burrata di Andria. Ma la modernità fa capolino, in maniera più decisa, anche in altri piatti come il crudo di branzino marinato al lime servito su misticanza di fiori eduli e vinaigrette ai frutti rossi o la tartare di Black Angus servita con mayo al parmigiano, cialda di pane croccante e accompagnata sempre da una insalatina di misticanza e fiori eduli alla vinaigrette di frutti rossi. Interessante, non solo per il nome, il piatto ""Non Chiamatemi Tonno"": barbabietola marinata in salsa Teriyaki e semi di sesamo servita su crema di Patate Viola con sformatino di Riso al vapore.

Tra i primi, con tagliatelle e tortelloni fatti in casa, c'è spazio anche per il risotto mantecato con crema di piselli servito con bocconcini di gamberi rossi crudi e stracciatella di burrata. Importante la griglia, con grigliate miste sia di carne che di pesce e la possibilità di assaggiare una fiorentina di Black Angus accompagnata da verdure grigliate e patate al forno. Tra i dolci, oltre al tiramisù della casa, da segnalare “La Nostra Merenda”, una Mousse al cioccolato servito con pane croccante, olio Evo e Sale Nero.

    Among the best Florentine restaurants. A good walk from Ponte Vecchio but worth it. Restaurant located in a 5 star hotel on the river. Great environment and service. Had lunch starting with the trio crostini: excellent. The Florentine pomodoro soup is a must and the best we’ve tasted. Later shared the vegetable risotto, also out of this world. Accompanied the meal with a Chianti DOC wine. Tried 2 desserts which were worth the calories: a mango tiramisu and a tart with pistachio and raspberry. Prices were very reasonable considering the quality and beautiful ambiance.

    The terrace gives an intimate and quite place, usually play jazz music, and the garden and swimming pool view takes you away from city. You can also lean over the wall and contemplate the river.

    We had a wonderful experience. The menu is not extensive, but very well executed with local ingredients. The lamb was well done (they forgot to ask us), but very tender. The sommelier was very knowledgeable and advised on an excellent wine (by the glass, which is rare). There were some glitches in the service, but they fixed all with grace and good humour. They even served things not listed in the menu. Really worth it

    The team of Flora&Fauno managed to make that an unforgettable evening. From the warm welcome until we left, everything was perfect. Apart from the scrumptuous food, we especially loved the atmoshpere - a mix of vintage and modern, which made the premises cosy. We also appreciated the fact, that the bar has a good range of non-alcoholic drinks (mocktails).

    Great service. Great food. A very large portions, we could not even eat them completely. Only high-quality ingredients. A wide selection of wines. Caring staff, attention to us was above expectations. Higly recommended!

    In the menu the fish dish (Branzino) and meat dishes were all 22 euro, the maitre d'hotel suggested Dentice, when i got the bill it was 35 euro. A bit of a surprise but it was a very big piece of fish and very fresh. Maybe even a bit too big for ladies. To not waste food i struggled to finish it.

    This a a really quaint and well run restaurant. The Bistecca Alla Florentina was excellent, the Chanti was wonderful and the tiramisu was masterful

    Everything was great. Presentation of food easily a 10/10. Taste and innovation very strong too (9.5/10). Our only service-related issue was miscommunication over the check (we've found this to be a theme at Italian restaurants). Would highly recommend.

    Excellent service and beyond exquisite food. We have the mixed grills of both fish and meat which was cooked in front of us to perfection. 10/10 for food, ambience and service.

    This place is hidden away in a hotel, but it is beautiful. The food was amazing with an excellent balance of flavours, not to mention the presentation. It's obvious that the chef loves what they do. Service was impeccable, staff were very friendly and helpful. Well worth the long walk it took us to get there!

ELEGANZA - A pochi chilometri dal centro storico di Firenze, nella zona est della città, si trova il ristorante Flora & Fauno, situato all’interno dell’hotel Ville sull’Arno. Un ambiente elegante, raffinato e al contempo cordiale ed accogliente, che oltre alle sale interne, dispone anche di una zona esterna, dove è possibile consumare il pasto durante la bella stagione.

RIVISITAZIONI - Lo chef propone una cucina ispirata alla tradizione culinaria toscana, rivisitata con creatività e modernità. Utilizza rigorosamente materie prime di qualità, per garantire la freschezza e la genuinità dei piatti serviti.

CONSIGLIATI - Assolutamente da provare il carpaccio di salmone marinato in casa con Campari e le linguine risottate all'astice servite su crema di cavolfiore. Come piatto principale invece è consigliato la piovra cotta a bassa temperatura servita con sorbetto alla carota, ma anche il filetto di vitello in salsa di senape.
