10/10Our first time in Byron and The Forest didn’t disappoint one bit. We were 40minutes late to our dinner reservation and were still greeted and treated the best by all the staff members. The venue is very modern with a beautiful rustic twist to it after the sunsets. Never in my life have a wanted to drink wine… however, with the degustation menu we received paired wines with each meal. They all paired and went down amazingly well. Food,service and culture are 10/10 Thank you for having us, The Lio’s

7.5/10The Forest is a very nice restaurant but be careful cause the kitchen may be slow when large groups come in. They prioritize hotel clients and large groups. I went there as a walk-in with my family and I was lucky enough to order first for my kid. His kid's meal came fairly quickly but ours was delayed for an hour, even the starters. We all enjoyed our meal but waiting too long which of course, was unpleasant.

10/10We were very impressed with the quality of the food and presentation was 5 star. Fantastic service, the waiter recognised it was our anniversary and our dessert had scripting of Happy Anniversary! Loved that touch!

4/10We were booked in through Fork when we arrived they did not have our booking & said they don’t use Fork to book ! They forgot one of our bread for a table if 9 & one main meal came out before all the others & my dish was not hot , my hubbys dish had 3 prawns for a $39 dish , We will not be returning & I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting the area .

5.5/10Everything was just ok and I expected much more for that price point. Staff were pleasant but weren't knowledgeable about the menu and one didn't speak above a whisper and was confused by their own drinks menu. Overall, not worth the few hundred dollars I paid.

10/10Love the atmosphere at this restaurant. Its a luxe experience without being stuffy because the staff are fabulous. The food was excellent - you have to try the squid and the mussels!

3.5/10Was really excited to come here but found the restaurant not to be as nice as shown on the Instagram - they definitely pick their angles and only take photos of the most up to date furniture. Service was terrible, and they weren’t even busy. Took ages for anyone to serve us, ages for our food and drinks to come and we had to get up to ask to pay at the end. For the prices I would expect a lot more. Won’t be back - definitely a marketing grab.

3.5/10Staff members not personable. Overpriced pub food. Decent ambience but would be improved if staff made an effort. Limited vegan options and catering for dietary requirements. Cannot charge $9 for a bottle still water. Really needs improvement.

8/10Ambiance and food was good. Loved the outdoor dinning and the views onto the forest. Service could’ve been a bit more attentive as the restaurant was pretty quiet.

A meal at ‘Byron at Byron Restaurant' - yes it's confusing for us to say too - is a meal worth road tripping to Byron Bay for, or even worth planning a holiday around. With a focus on fresh, locally farmed produce, this Byron Bay beauty showcases Northern River's local produce with passion. Everything here is lovingly planned and prepared under the guidance of Head Chef Gavin Hughes who has been at Byron since its opening. The food is light Mediterranean style and the menu changes each season to reflect the diverse regional offerings. It's a true paddock to plate approach. But it's not all about the produce and the food. The stunning open plan dining areas take advantage of the gorgeous rainforest, making you feel at one with nature while you dine. The breathtaking backdrop along with the fine food make for a truly memorable experience. Don't miss out on this one.
