    Was very disappointed that on Easter Sunday the restaurant was understaffed and we waited for 2.5hrs to only be given antipasto and starter course. We refused to be given the main course as it was late and we had other plans, since the meal was taking too long. The chef explained that everything is done from scratch in his kitchen which I appreciate 100% but on a day like Easter when you know you are going to be busy and also you are understaffed I expect some little preparation in advance not to wait over 3hrs to have lunch. Having said so the place is nicely set up, staff are polite and food we ate was quite good. Pity the experience and to add to this that it had to be Easter Lunch, when both may girlfriend and I were looking forward to this lunch.

    Chef Matteo is a wonderful host and an amazing chef. He was attentive and, considering the demands of running a kitchen, spent a great deal of time talking to us about the menu and was very accomodating to our special requests. A delight in every way. We cant wait to return for another meal. ❤️????????

    Really good food, a fantastic bottle of wine AND the best server of our entire trip. They did not have an English menu, so our waiter walked us through every single dish on the menu. Really great evening.

    Greeted so friendly and welcoming by the host, Matteo who we soon realized is also the owner, waiter, barrista, bar tender AND chef! The menu is well constructed including many traditional Emilian items but also innovative items, there is definitely something for everyone. Our children had many items to choose from and really enjoyed their food from starters to desert (especialy the home made cookies and meringues!) All the food was prepared fresh under eyes by only two people...Matteo and his co-chef. It is truly an experience never to be forgotten. The pasta we had were handmade and the best by far we had in Italy. By the end of the meal Matteo even took the time to teach our 10 year old son to make a cappuccino with his professional coffee machine!! Thank you Matteo for making our Modena dinner experience so very memorable. We will be back if we are ever so lucky to be in Modena again. Good luck to you, with your passion and hard work you deserve all the success in the world!

    Probably the best place in Modena. Food is truly delicious, authentic, home made, using the best ingredients of the region. Every thing is prepared at the last minute so you can request some adaptations of your order if you want too. Matteo the chef/landlord is the nicest person we’ve met for a while. He knows very well his region, its history. He’s also a great teacher of all the details about specialties of the center of gravity of gastronomy of Italy that Modena and Reggio Emiliano region are.
