Very warm welcome in a fairly small, unassuming restaurant. The decor is slightly old-fashioned, but the place is spotless. Excellent food quality, but be prepared for surprisingly large portions (the “small side salad”, for instance, turned out to be a large plate full of nicely seasoned raw veggies, topped with mozzarella balls).

Lovely German food served by extremely helpful and friendly staff. My wife is a coeliac and they were very good about amending dishes so that they did not contain gluten.

Had a lovely dining experience here. Alex and staff very welcoming and accomodating and looked after us all well during our evening meal there. We phoned ahead, but at relatively short notice for a large group, but we're very well looked after. Thank you.

Excellent German food and hospitality! It’s a family owned restaurant that exceeded our expectations and we’d highly recommend it. The chef/owner made menu/beer/wine recommendations that were perfect pairings. If you want a perfectly made schnitzel, go here!

Da vi kom ind nået vi dårligt at at fortælle at vi havde reserveret er bord. Vi blev "kastet" hen til et bord af servitricen. Hun havde mere travlt med at servicere de andre lokale gæster, end at tag ordenlig imod vores bestillinger. Vi måtte tage fat i en anden tjener for få bekræftet hvad vi havde bestilt. Da hun sku tag imod nye ordre på drikkevarer hørte hun heller ikke efter. Fortrød big time vi brugte vores penge der.. maden var heller ikke den store oplevelse.

The owner took care of us personally . Warm and inviting . Authentic German Cuisine served hot and fresh just like it came out of mom’s kitchen right to the table . Would absolutely recommend for any one traveling through Berlin.

I little bit of research suggested that Gasthaus Kater Alex may be a good source of quality schniztzel. And the research paid off. What a great find, just a short walk from Bismarckstaße U-Bahn and 30 minutes U-Bahn ride from where we were staying in Alexanderplatz. The service, old and drink was all top notch. I thoroughly recommend any who wants good food in Berlin to make the short journey here. We will be back and will also recommend it to all of our friends.

Great. Only found this place through Facebook and Tripadvisor and when we got there I waxx so a bit dubious but the service was great and the food was perfect. Just what we wanted.
