A nice warm welcome, good pasta, although Risotto so salty could not finish and ruined appetite for rest of evening. Very unique decorations, would remove “social media” painting though.

The food was amazing; it was fresh, inventive, and the flavors popped. We asked for a wine suggestion for a local red, and the recommendation met all of our expectations! Yum!

Quirky decor, good food and friendly service made this a very nice meal for a couple of travellers from abroad!
While our meal took longer than we are used to (but after a week in Italy, we realised this is just the way things are!), it was delicious, and our servers kindly split our choices of dish into 2 plates, which we very much appreciated.
Would definitely visit again!

Staying in Lucca’s Centro Storico but saw reviews of this restaurant and decided to venture outside the walls. So glad we did, Gatta Ci Cova was amazing. The food was all delicious, beautifully cooked and presented, modern and a bit different. The welcome and service was excellent throughout, even on a busy Saturday night (mostly locals, we were the only obvious tourists!). It’s also got a great atmosphere, lots of themed touches based around cartoon animals (not just a cat/Gatta!), maybe from Italian children’s stories, and even the discrete background music contributed to the buzzy but relaxed vibe. We loved it!

Playful, modern yet entirely authentic cuisine - worth the short trip outside the city walls. The playfulness of the beautiful menu and sign artwork (drawn by one of the owners) is reflected in the food.
