Restaurant was pretty quiet when I went in but still a good vibe somehow. A warm welcome from very friendly, helpful service staff. Sat at a lovely little table outside, opposite the local grocery, watching the busy little community go about its business. Restaurant slowly got busier and seemed to be being thoroughly enjoyed by all.., couples, families & the odd lone diner like myself. I’d booked knowing exactly what I wanted; a really good steak, maybe some salad with bread and of course, frites! I ordered “Gene’s” steak (onglet, a favourite), cooked a pointe/a pointe + and shortly afterwards, the meal I’d had in mind since before my trip began, appeared. Beautifully simple, beautifully cooked.., perfect. A good, large espresso to close, while watching the good people of Gennevilliers & beyond, stroll, laugh & chatter their way through another balmy evening in the now, twinkling, buzzing, fairy lit street outside Gene’s. Wonderful
