Onze ober was verliefd, vermoed ik. Want hij vergat soms kleine dingen, zoals theezakjes bij de thee. Behalve dat: prima!

Nice variety on the menu, good service, and a warm and friendly atmosphere. Considering the short walk from Leiden Central Station it's a great place to meet friends.

I was invited there by my charming associate who knew the place already, the idea was to a have a quick bite to eat. The atmosphere was cosy, vibrant and up to date.
I ordered ravioli with spinach and cream sauce and we both had a starter of smashing carbonet sauvignon blanc. The service was good. The dried red beets were delicious and surprising, the fried potatoes my associate had were compelling and rich in flavor. The coffee was sufficient and came on time, made me curious to visit this place again and try their burger.

It may have been 3 weeks late, but it was Trudi´s offical birthday and she got to choose where the girls would take her. "Lets go for a picnic" was the choice, but with the wettest summer on record we had to be creative. With CS turned into an english village green for the duration of the Olympics it was decided we´d meet here for a drink and then have our picnic at the station. Hunger was taking its toll though and soon after we sat down we ordered some snacks: fantastic bread and dips (best anyone could remember having in town), bitterballen and kaasstengels. The latter 2 came in dinky little metal baskets that gave them a slightly more sophisticated look than normal. Finding ourselfs with a good table and some efficient waiting staff the idea of the station became less and less attractive and in a short time the plans had changed and a spring chicken main course was sitting in front of me. As everyone knows, its my number 1 favourite dish and this was a great version - perfect size, well cooked and and filled with potatoes, garlic, onion and knolselderij. Brilliant. The rest of the girls enjoyed their meals as well and this could well be a regular - we tried the burger a few times previously and its also worth ordering. Still we came back last night and ordered the same fantastic bowl of bread and this time it was old and stale.Shame. If they can keep up the high standard of the previous week this should do well, but they need to be consistent. Looks a 100 times better than the old place.
