About the restaurant Grand Turquoise

With Turkish sheen

A Turkish couple runs restaurant Grand Turquoise. They have a comprehensive lunch- and dinner menu with a few Turkish dishes, but mostly inspired by the French cuisine. The decor is graceful with mosaic of glass behind the bar and decorations in which flowers thrive. Here they know what hospitality means, so they gladly organise an event for you!

We came in from the cold and I ordered Turkish tea listed on the menu, the owner said they don't have Turkish tea but they have wine. I don't drink alcohol, so I just ordered coffee. We'd noticed they kept pushing on the wine sales throughout the meal. Appetizers and main courses went fine but we had to remind the waiter & waitress of our desserts 3 separate times and it finally came more than 1 hour after our main courses. The owner brought them and he was not even apologetic, he just said 'you have to wait for good food.' I wondered if the couple next to us were served bad food because they had 4 courses (more than us), came later than us, but were already done and had left the restaurant when we were still waiting for our 3rd course dessert. And it was an under cooked apple struddle, almost cold when served, definitely not worth the wait. Inflexible and inhospitable restaurant owner, I wonder why he had gotten into the hospitality business in the first place. Definitely not recommended!
