10/10the food an atmosphere were incredible. Tucked away in a quaint alleyway is a Michelin star level restaurant that will tantelize your tastebubs and leave you wanting more. You would be hard pressed to find a restaurant this devine for an affordable price.

10/10The staff parallels the food.. absolutely remarkable and incredibly thoughtful. Every single dish we had was mindblowing, but especially the Carrabeaner! The prawn head and potato pavé were out of this world. Make reservations as it’s rare to get a walk in, and make sure to order as much as you can! The portions aren’t too big, so it’s really fun to try everything. We ordered so much, we thought the bill was going to be crazy, but we got about 9 dishes and paid $157 with a $30 tip as the staff really went above and beyond and deserve tips as abundantly kind as they are!

10/10The service was fantastic, no matter who served us. Everyone was happy to give recommendations and we never felt rushed. The food itself was all so different to other more tradition dishes we have had during our stay in Porto, but every single course was absolutely delicious. I would definitely recommend Gruta for those looking for a more modern twist on seafood dishes!

2/10Not much. We got there 15 minutes later and the person at the front in pink said we needed to be gone by 9:30. Then they didn’t come to us after they sat us down, they didn’t bring us drinks until we asked, and when I asked for lemon, it took 25 mins to bring out lemon and for me to remind them. They also didn’t care to refill us when they saw we were low on water. Additionally, when I told them how I was disappointed with the service, they shrugged and didn’t care. I could never see this being a Michelin restaurant and I hope when someone comes to inspect, they will see that too. Poor service, not great food and most importantly, not a care in the world from the staff. They just wanted their tip, but didn’t want to even pretend to care for if. 1/10 perhaps 0/10 if I could. 9.5/10We wanted to support the restaurant’s all-female concept and were not disappointed. Great food and excellent service. The only minor issue was loud music, as we at outside.

7/10Some plates were really good while others didn’t blow us away and they were just sub-par. The atmosphere was great. The service was just okay. It took about 10 minutes for someone to even come over and greet us. No check-ins to see how we were liking the food throughout. Overall 7/10, wouldn’t count it as a Michelin guide.
