The Harbor Cafe is a cosy and comfortable restaurant with surprising dishes that taste very well. We liked the design and layout of Harbor Cafe, with the bar area - where you can have a dink first - and the separate restaurant. It has a great atmosphere and the staff is very welcoming and friendly.

Good food. Felt welcome. Pleasant vegetarian and vegan options. Surprising wine. The portions were huge. We would have liked to try dessert, but just couldn’t. Thanx!

We had a very pleasant dinner on Monday evening and there were a lot of other people who seemed to have a happy evening in this restaurant on the harbour side of Groningen ( near Oosterhaven). Monday can be a lonely evening in a restaurant but here it was lovely but not noisy. The oisters were excellent and the food was from a good supplier and the cook was an artist with the colours and taste. It was tastefull and our servant was nice and caring and made time to explain about the food and restaurant. She had a lot of fun in doing here work. We spent some hours but had a 4 course menu and extra oisters in advance but went home with the feeling of a good find on holiday trip while we live here. W' ll return.

The seafood is awesome! Super fresh, tasty with a great amount, perfectly matched with the lemon and sauce. The service lady is also so sweet and nice to explain the menu and dishes, and cares for us need when we're eating. We've already discussed what we'd order next time:) Thanks for dinner tonight! We had a great time there????????

De overmatige drukte op het terras had enige invloed op de bediening.

Cosy restaurant right next to the canal. Friendly staff and a menu with just the right amount of choices. Please try the 'buikspek carpaccio' and 'trio of chocolade', which are both mouthwatering and maybe even a little bit out of the box. p.s. Nice detail: you can order most dishes in 'small' or 'large', which makes this the perfect restaurant for people who hate choosing.

We ( a group of 4) arrived early and the owner brought us to the table. He was not friendly at all during all of the evening, which is strange if the slogan of your restaurant is: you arrive as a guest and leave as a friend. We felt we arrived as guests and had to entertain ourselves and leave as friends among ourselves. The young waiter who brought us the food was friendlier and the barman who brought us our coffee was friendly. Our table and chair were on the floor that had such big and deep cracks one of our chairs partly vanished in them, so we moved the table a bit further to the back. We told the owner why we had done so. Of course he already knew that the floor needs to be repaired. You can really not seat your guests with the risk of them being seriously injured. That spot was made free for another table for 2, but at least the table was put above the cracks, not the chairs. The first couse was tasty, we got our dinks before and after that. Although we had arrived early and were among the first guests before it got crowded it then took another 2 (!!!) hours before our main dish arrived. That tasted nice as well. Dessert and coffee came quicker. Would I come here again? No, not really. I would not recommend it either. We had brunch once outdoors and had good memories of that, but this is not a place I would go again for dinner.

Erg drukke dag, eerste zonnige terras dag. Hadden eerst te weinig personeel, maar riepen extra mensen op. Kwaliteit van het eten leed er niet onder. Uitstekende keuze. Komen zeker vaker.
