I had a disappointing meal at the harvester because the fork app had said I had a table booked but luckily the havester messaged me telling me they were fully booked so the fork is a rubbish app

Haven’t been to The Elms for some years but pleasantly surprised, very pleasant atmosphere, table waiter extremely amiable, good sense of humour, salad bar excellent and the whole lunch menu reasonably priced. Will definitely be returning more often.

Lovely food, restaurant and service. Harry was very friendly and attentive. All the staff were extremely welcoming which contributed to a friendly atmosphere.

We booked at the Elms to treat my father and stepmother to a meal and didn’t want to make too much fuss at the time as this would have made the evening uncomfortable. Firstly the waitress took our order then came back to say that 2 of the six of us couldn’t have our chosen meal as there wasn’t any salmon so we had to choose something else. Then my two daughters both ordered off the tapas menu, a total of 5 dishes and asked for them to be brought out with the main meals. After the expected amount of time, the waitress brought out 3 of the tapas dishes, 2 for one of my daughters and one for the other. We received none of the other food for at least half an hour. My father has to chase the rest of the meals which still took another 10 minutes. When the rest of the food came out my stepmother has to send her fish cakes back as they tasted burnt. She tried to eat them but in the end had to return them. In the meantime, one of my daughters was eating her remaining 2 tapas dishes, all of which were vegetarian when she realised that one was actually chicken! She’d ordered some southern fried vegetarian sticks and had been given the buttermilk chicken, she’d had a few bites before realising, thank goodness she’s not strictly vegetarian! The disjointed delivery of meals resulted in one daughter eating he whole meal before anyone else’s had been delivered, another daughter having meat and my stepmother having to eat her recooked meal on her own when everyone else has finished. The recooked meal and the incorrect tapas dish were knocked off the bill but the whole experience was extremely disappointing. I don’t see my father very often and what was supposed to be a pleasant evening was thoroughly spoiled as my father had to chase up meals and complain about the food being delivered so far apart as well as over cooked and incorrect meals. The Elms is our local restaurant but this experience has really put us off using it again.

Friends of mine were outside and said they couldn’t get in as fully booked yet tables were empty and no sat in them seats all night ! Also we felt very rushed

I've always quite like the elms but after this experience won't be returning again. The service was poor. I asked for some bread rolls which were forgotten. The dessert arrived without custard. Needless to say I won't be returning any time soon

The food was of poor quality for what you pay. I had scampi fries and garden peas. The scampi was more like popcorn size and no thread was removed before cooking it. The pease came in water and they were under cooked. My partner had triple combo chicken meal. The chicken was dreadful dry and small. We asked for the bill to discover another 12.5% is added on top. As we buy food we already pay tax and VAT on it as I’m sure your company does with their suppliers. Over the years I have used the place slot and the quality and quantity has never been an issue but it is now .We will not return .

Arrived a bit early, the staff member made it possible for us to be seated and our drinks served promptly. The young lady looking after us was very pleasant and efficient. Everyone enjoyed their food although a burger served was very hard like it had been cooked and left for a long time. Surrounding lovely although we all sat there feeling quite cold and other diners had their coats over their shoulders.

My steak was inedible. Cooked well but meat was stringy and tasteless. I have all my own teeth but could not chew enough to swallow the meat. The male person on the salad cart was obviously there for the money and had no manners other than bad ones. I dont think that we would eat at Harvester again.

The resturant was great staff excellent, my only problem was I chose a set menu and chose steak which cost 10 pound more in surcharges had I know I would just have had a meal separately.

I met my sisters here as we are local. We were not disappointed! Service was excellent - food was good too , overall a really good experience. Will definitely recommend and be going again !
