About the restaurant Het Pakhuis

Space for pearls Het Pakhuis has a warm yet robust atmosphere in a light and spacious setting. They have a classic menu, but also some pearls on the day menu. Think of delicious wild pig carpaccio, salmon in sake and creamy tiramisu. The large space is bookable for a party as well.

Het Pakhuis has always been consistently good. It’s even better than it used to be and very good value for money.

The restaurant is based in a very narrow alley, and might be easy to miss if you are not looking for it. Nonetheless inside the restaurant is large enough and can accomodate large groups as well.

The food served is reasonable. I had goat cheese salad as starter, which was ok. Followed by pork sate, which was undercooked. Desserts are all sweets, no cheeses to be had. Overall the food is not too bad, but there are much better places in Haarlem.

Wines are not exceptional, but drinkable.

In conclusion: there are so many good eateries in Haarlem, i would probably skip this one next time.
