Nice restaurant with good food and friendly service. They were very flexible with our extra wishes despite the fact that we were paying with AH vouchers.

Great Nepalese and Indian food for fair prices and lovely service. The garlic naan deserves a special mention: when the basket is put on the table, the scent of garlic, bread and butter that rises from it is incredible.

Very fast service and delicious food. I had Himalayan Veg Thali, and my partner had a MO:MO's which was the best in town. Really loving this place because of the environment and a quality of food.

A long time ago we had the same food in Nepal, real authentic, especially Veg Momo and Gorkha Fish Curry. Cheese and Garlic naan was just perfect. Food was cooked with passion. Simple the best restaurant in Amsterdam. We will go again very soon.

After visiting many Indian restaurants we found this small and tidy restaurant in Amsterdam. The food was amazing with an excellent service. The decoration is simple but it was totally covered by peaceful/relaxing music. Very happy in this hidden gem. Great job, hope to see you soon.

I had high hopes for this place too because it was packed. Soon I learned it was packed because no one had their food cause it took forever to serve. But seriously I was at the restaurant for 2.5 hours, and the time it took to eat was 30 minutes. This isn't a good place to go if you want a normal time dinner or if you're hungry. Go a couple of hours before you want to eat.

Ok the real review-- the food itself is a 2. There's absolutely nothing special about it.

I got the fried fish appetizer, which they said would take an hour to prepare. That's because, I think, they go to the store, get a fish, skin it, marinade it, batter it and then fry it. Or maybe they catch the fish fresh. If something takes an hour to prep, I expect it to be delicious. But sadly it was just fried fish without any taste.

I also got the momos. The skin is so thick! And the flavor is not quite there or actually there's not much flavor.

Then we got the vegetable curry which is great if you're 1 year old and can't have solid foods. It was a purée that was sweet and bland. Do they have any spices back there? It was warmish-cold too.

Then they overcharged us on the beers.

I hate leaving such low reviews but it just needs to be done sometimes.

We had a great dinner at Himalayan Kitchen. Took Chicken Garlic Tikka and Gurkha Fish curry was fabulous taste. Decoration was simple but the best with a melodious instrumental music. Service is really attending from a charming lady. All in all a great place to eat.

Wonderful friendly people. Large menu choice. Difficult to choose what you really like, as you do not really eat Nepalese food so often! Maybe a good idea to organize Nepalese food tasting evenings. Good wine at very reasonable price. OK for a second visit.

We came back to Himalayan Kitchen. The food is amazing and authentic. Location is a hidden gem in the middle of ten katestraat. 2 appetizers, and shared a main course was more than enough. Try the fish curry, and the garlic naan bread.
