The quality of food was really great, the menu was very tasty. The service was just perfect and the view was fantastic. We will definitely eat soon in this restaurant.

The weak link in Mirador. Second visit and was reminded why I gave up going to Hinata a while ago- long waiting time for service, orders forgotten, poor food quality for the level they want to be, not to mention the sake they serve is totally under par. Not recommended and will not return. On a positive note Mirador showed they can improve the other restaurants they have. Hope they do something with this one as well.

Do yourself a favor and visit this lovely restaurant. The service is unmatched. The staff is super nice and truly cares about your experience. The food is absolutely amazing – everything we tasted melted in other mouths. Highly recommend!

This meal was exceptionally disappointing - our waitress forgot much of what we ordered, but because of staggered delivery of the dishes, it took us awhile to figure that out - leading the meal to take hours and leading us to have the food in an order that didn't make much sense (appetizers after main dishes, etc); quite a few of the dishes could barely pass as Japanese - the "teppanyaki" was just over-boiled vegetables with poorly cooked rice and no sauce (and at 20 CHF for this dish, that was exceptionally disappointing), the miso soup had very little flavor (it was more like warm water), and the tempura was soggy and thick instead of crisp and delicate. While the manager tried to make up for the poor service at the end of our meal, it was ultimately unforgivably bad and we will never return.

A beautiful view and friendly staff but disappointing food: Very very limited unimaginative menu. Go to Ishioshi in Vevey or Zen Sushi in Lausanne Palace. Main course tuna overcooked, vegetables offered instead of rice were just oily peppers and no effort on presentation atall - all main courses just stuffed in a bowl. Won’t be going back - what a shame.

Beautiful view on the lake, great food, superb service! We appreciated the visit very much and had a great time. As not experienced japanese eaters we got the menu explained very friendly and patiently.

Wafu salad with wasabi dressing was too spicy to eat. I’m originally from Japan. I never saw such a spicy salad in Japan. Maybe, you can provide other options for dressing. Other dishes and service were nice.

The Hinata is wonderfully located on the Mont Pèlerin with a view of the Alps, the Riviera and the Rhône valley that will take your breath away. For that view alone it’s worth the detour. Service is friendly and attentive. The quality of the food is good, however rather bland tasting. If you like Japanese and are used to really tasty Japanese food, this isn’t a place to have your tastebuds swept away. Price is on par with other fine dining places, but here you pay for the privilege of the setting more than the privilege of the chef’s « savoir faire ».

Excellent quality of food, nice setting and very caring staff. The à la carte menu presents a variety of Japanese dishes that are different from what we could usually find elsewhere. We'll come back for sure.
