They practised social distancing & excellent service. Yummy char kway teow and crispy rendang.
They had the asam laksa in the monthly specials. It’s authentic and tastes like home! We also ordered fish head curry which is as good as I remembered.
We had a very good meal. Will absolutely go back again..
Great Malaysian food. I recommend the salted egg fried chicken wings. Really yummy!

92 Hay St, 2000, Haymarket (NSW), Australia, RestaurantAddress
Ho Jiak Haymarket is Sydney’s first Malaysian Nyonya grill, with head chef Junda Khoo at the helm. He modelled his menu on the street food he grew up eating and making alongside his family members in their home kitchen, and the restaurant’s layout reflects these childhood memories. Walk into the ground floor and you’ll feel as if you’ve been transported to the street Khoo grew up on in Penang while the first floor of the restaurant is actually designed to look like his grandmother’s house.
Choose from the likes of creamy, spicy Laksa and al dente egg noodles or opt for the Nyonya grill, with succulent lamb cutlets, chicken and seafood, with chilli sambal sauce for dipping. If you can’t bear to choose from the variety of food on offer, try it all with the tasting menus, starting from $40 per person. There’s even a vegetarian and gluten free menu so no one feels left out.
We can sense there will be an influx of visitors to Penang, Malaysia after people get a taste of how good the area’s home-cooking really is.
