Sin duda, la gastronomía barcelonesa contemporánea no sería lo que es sin la figura de Mey Hofmann, que ha sido la encargada de forman en su prestigiosa Escuela de Hostelería a algunos de los chefs más reputados del momento. Con un know how propio e imbuida por la fuerte personalidad culinaria de su creadora, la escuela, abierta en 1983, dio lugar a la creación del restaurante homónimo en la zona alta de Barcelona, un lugar donde se refleja todo el saber que atesora la escuela y en el que los alumnos realizan sus prácticas. El espacio ideal para conocer de primera mano, a precios más que razonables, a esos chefs que en el futuro ocuparán, sin duda, todas las portadas.

Con un gran comedor y dos salones para grupos, con capacidad para entre 7 y 10 personas, Hofmann presume de un cuidado interiorismo, de una cocina a la vista y de un equilibrio perfecto entre clasicismo e informalidad, lo mismo que la cocina de su creadora. Porque la de Hofmann es una cocina con empaque, de presentaciones exquisitas, que parte del recetario mediterráneo y tradicional catalán para fusionarlos, si es necesario, con las técnicas más innovadoras. Todo ello, con unas materias primas siempre de calidad suprema y un profundo respeto por la cocina de nuestras abuelas.

What a great experience! My wife and I booked the reservation a few months back and were really, really looking forward to the meal. It did not disappoint! The food was unbelievable, the service was great, we had a fantastic time.

The lunch was just amazing. It was divine. The strawberry soup was so refreshing. The rice I had was totally indescribable. It was very delicious. What an experience ! Price is not cheap but totally worth every single penny. I'm glad I have been there.

Excellent, very refined and successfully creative food. The staff is very professional and caring without being omnipresent. The only low note is the place really, that is somewhat old fashionef, but you don't go to Hoffmann for the place but for the gastronomy!

The food was mostly spectacular. Strawberry soup, steak, cod, rice dish and desserts were outstanding. Lobster was good, not great. Steak had to be sent back to kitchen because it was not cooked enough. The service was just ok because there was a very large tour group that drained the staff. The ambiance was not as superior as the food.
