About the restaurant Hostellerie de Levernois : Le Gastronomique

The food and ambiance was great! My boyfriend ordered the chef's surprise menu, which was five courses. I ordered the fish and the cheese course. The cheese course is served with all kinds of fanfare, where they bring out three (ah!) tables of cheeses and then ask you for your tastes to make selections. I am a huge cheese fan, so was most excited for this course. They went through the whole cheese presentation with my boyfriend, and then rather than moving on to me, took all the cheese away! :( I wanted to take a photo of the massive cheese display, but waited until it was my turn. I asked if they had forgotten about me, they apologized saying they had, and brought me a few cheeses on a plate but I didn't get to make the selections or get my photo. I just felt I missed out in this once in a lifetime experience. When I received my bill upon checkout, I was disappointed to see that I was still charged for the cheese course even though I missed out on the experience.

Top class restaurant in the heart of burgundy. Beautiful setting as part of the hotel in it's own park, aperitifs on the terrace in summer, very relaxed, high-end but not stuffy. Food, as to be expected, is excellent.

My wife and i spent a week in France and this was by far the best & finest meal we had. It was expensive, but well worth every penny spent. A beautiful location and experience from beginning to end.

Beautiful surroundings and the service was excellent. We came here for Sunday lunch and had the "Menu Surprise" which I highly recommend. My friend is allergic to shellfish and nuts but they accommodated him. We were full but as the food has a light touch, we did not feel uncomfortable despite the big meal.

What a lovely setting and beautiful restaurant. If you are not staying at the hotel make sure you know how to get there as it's a little hidden. From the moment we stepped in through the doors we felt welcomed and appreciated. The food was fabulous and the wine selection extensive. All the staff, especially the maitre'd was so hospitable. Ask if there is any special "off" the menu.....Please go and visit this restaurant - you will not regret it
