Not what I expected. I loved the soup, but was disappointed by the risotto. I can make it much better at home... No one ever asked me if I wanted bread and never gave me bread, when the soup was clearly indicated "WITH BREAD" on the menu. Not the right way to manage customers.....

Great service, great food and lots of it! Didn’t have to wait long for it to arrive but we also weren’t rushed out of the door when we’d finished. Nice, relaxed atmosphere. Would definitely go again next time we’re in the neighbourhood.

Calidad excepcional, todo estaba muy bueno y recién hecho. Podías ver cómo se iba cocinando y el trato del producto es perfecto. Recomiendo especialmente el rissoto de salchicha y alcachofa. Camareros muy atentos.

We loved this rustic, restaurant. It had a great atmosphere and the staff were very helpful and attentive as this was our first night in Italy and we weren’t familiar with any local customs, etc. The food was simple but every element was delicious. We didn’t overload ourselves with all of Antipasti, Primi, Secondi and Dessert, only choosing three and it worked perfectly for us. I drank the house red wine and it was wonderful. I definitely recommend Il Basilico.

The fried polenta was amazing, same as the other plates. The staff is very friendly and fast, and the atmosphere is very pleasing. You can see the kitchen and the meal being prepared, which is interesting.

Fantastic Florence/Tuscan food. Fabulous pizza marinara, risotto and sausage bean stew. Everything perfect. Service was very good and relaxed. Would highly recommend eating here as much better food, experience, portions and price. Excellent value for money. It is off the main streets and piazzas but well worth going here!

We had a nice evening. The food was excellent and the staff really nice. We had a tomato soup and pizza. The tomato soup was amazing and the pizza perfect. We would have loved to eat dessert but couldn't eat anymore. The drinks were also good. The quality offered for that price is unbeatable.

Staff really helpful and patient. Sausage and artichoke risotto was superb. Orange peel and prawn risotto very good, as was the canelloni and wild boar. Very reasonably priced too. Good wine.

Service unbelievable. Main gentleman seemed to be running all evening. Every table filled. Noisy due to street but this seems to he the norm here in Firenze. Had the Bistecca Florentine. Definitely underseasoned. But with the olive oil on the table and salt and pepper it was very good.

I reserved a table for 4 with high expectations based on the reviews I read. When we arrived I was a bit taken aback. The restaurant is quite small and unprepossessing. We were seated inside and started with prosecco and house red wine and were immediately impressed with the quality. Both were excellent. Starters of bruschetta and coccoli, little balls of fried dough served with crudo and strachino, were terrific. Entrees of risotto, papardelle with duck sauce, gnocci, and wild boar ragu were all excellent. Risotto and gnocci are both something of wildcards but here the rice was perfectly al dente and the gnocci were tender, pillowy morsels of potatoey delight napped with a tasty, fresh pesto. My wife had the duck and it was stellar. I had the cinghale (wild boar) served with grilled polenta and wished again that boar was served at restaurants near my home in the Pacific Northwest. Service was excellent. Great food, good wine, wonderful service in a setting that promises less.

Friendly and helpful staff, excellent food. Well worth a visit. We split a pizza with an excellent salad and spinach. An excellent lunch. The waiter was friendly and charming. A very positive experience, I would go back next time I'm in Florence.

Went here for traditional Italian food and weren’t disappointed! The wild boar and toasted polenta was amazing. They have a very unique and tasty first course that is burrata cheese with pear and orange, drizzled with honey- excellent and refreshing!

We had a nice dinner. We chose it because it was highlighted on the Fork website and it was not far from our hotelThe food was very good. We sat outside, which is our preference anywhere these days because the weather is so nice and Covid, of course. The staff was great. We had a light tasty meal with wine.

A good basic restaurant that was popular with the locals and represented very good value for money. Menu also offered a few more international options such as chicken and chips if you prefer to avoid Tuscan dishes every meal.

The staff were very friendly and the welcome was great. Food is prepared fresh in view of customers. Portions are VERY generous, bit too big and I hate to send back a plate unfinished but the canelloni were very dense with a lot of sauce and it was just too heavy to finish. House wine was good quality and it was good value overall.
