About the restaurant Il Belli

The service was terrific as was the food. It appears that beef is the specialty, especially beef carpaccio. My thought it was the best beef carpaccio she has ever eaten (I do not eat raw meat). The past dishes were superb.

Food was really, really good. And if you like meat, this is clearly the place to be. I’m a non meat eater and even I wanted to try the steak - it smelled that good. My issue was with the service - I had booked in advance for my son’s 13th birthday and had emailed the restaurant asking if they could do something special for dessert (they emailed back and said yes) but when it came time my son ordered dessert, we ordered coffee, it took FOREVER and they brought a regular dessert, no candle, nothing special and we never got our coffee. Very disappointing service for what was intended to be a very special night out.

The T-bone steak was the most delicious in this trip. But it's not easy to found.

Atmosphere very noisy . Full of locals watching football and as I was sat underneath the tv the whole room was facing me. Not relaxing or at all especially when you are trying to chew on steak .

Food was good not amazing . We had a pasta first course and steak to share which was served on a hot plate but doesn't come with anything unless you order a side of mash which came in a very small dish .Although other tables were given bread and we were not .
Dessert was very nice

Paid 3euros for tap water and an extra charge on the bill for the table Im assuming

When I asked for the bill the waiter replied with the word 'what' pardon wouldn't of gone a miss . For two pasta plates . Steak to share with one side . Two desserts and two drinks the bill came to 95 euros .

I think this is more of a mans place to eat not a place to go if you want romance

Excellent menu! Simple but comfortable setting with good taste in music. The wait staff spoke excellent English and were friendly and helpful with questions on the menu. Best steak ever! Excellent wine list! Recommend to everyone as a relaxed venue with fresh well prepared food. Must have the steak with the bone on a hot stone! A real find!

Given other reviews we thought we'd try the Carpaciccio of beef. To my surprise it was very tasty. We then went on to the Château Briande, which again was very tasty, however it was served on its own with two great dressings. I think I would have preferred if it with a small side, perhaps grilled mushrooms or a small bit of veg as after the starter it was a bit all beef. The desserts were really fabulous. I had profiteroles that came with a chocolate hazelnut sauce with was superb. Good value too, with wine €140 for 4.
