Beautiful setting, interesting art and furniture. Food was creatively presented. My ravioli with truffles was remarkable. Very attentive staff.

Note that the location on Google maps is wrong. The restaurant is actually inside the castello.

Original, inventive cuisine, great service and an elegant dining room. The restaurant is associated with Rocca di Castagnoli brand, which has the handsome hotel next door and several vineyards, two in Tuscany and one in Sicily. All the dishes were made with the best, freshest ingredients, and the flavour combinations were outstanding. Be sure to try their olive oil and order one of their own fine wines (we had the excellent Chianti Classica Riserva 2015 from Rocca di C., very reasonably priced at 22€). Service was impeccable, thanks to Tony.

We usually eat at reasonably priced, casual places but this is a gem. Prices were higher but the quality of the food and service was outstanding. They had a kind of specialty menu from the chef which was big on porcini and truffles and also had a regular menu with appetizing regular dishes. Excellent wine which was very reasonably priced. We always dress casually bit I would have worn something better had I known it was this nice.

This is one of the gems of Tuscany. Search it out and you will be rewarded. Great service with polite and friendly staff. Each dish ordered was excellent in quality and presentation. Wine list is small (for a wine collector like me), but it was fairly priced and had enough variety to pair with all dishes. The desserts were great too and the restaurant was family friendly. This restaurant was recommended by great friends and I'm thankful we had the opportunity to experience it.

The reviews aren't wrong. This is the absolute best restaurant in gaiole in Chianti. Tons of options, even for my vegetarian wife, and all dishes are reasonable for the quantity & quality. Service is excellent. We got a complimentary glass of rosé wine, and the most exquisite amuse bouche (whipped ricotta with Sesame seeds and a black truffle.. heavenly). We only had two nights in gaiole, if we had 5 more, we'd return night after night to try everything on the menu! Perfecto!!

Lovely meal on Sunday evening. We found the restaurant through trip advisor and some rave reviews so expectations were set and I can say it really delivered! I had the mixed bruschetta and gnochetti with Gorgonzola. Delicious! My boyfriend had steak tartare then pork fillet with truffle. He actually said it was the best steak tartare he's ever had including competing with those in France! They had lots of special dishes with truffle and porcini mushrooms too. They were very attentive and we got a glass of rose on welcoming and a delicious amuse bouche with ricotta and truffle. We finished with a tiramisu. And washed it all down with a bottle of their chianti Classico which was great.
All in all very tasty food, great setting, great service! A must visit restaurant if you find yourself near Gaiole.

The staff were incredibly warm & welcoming and made you feel like family or a long time friend. Their suggestions were excellent. The food was varied and they seem to be passionate about it. The atmosphere was lovely. This was the first restaurant we've visited in Italy where dogs attended with diners - that was a little odd at first as it took them a while to settle. But were soon unnoticable.
We had attended the visitor center of the vineyard a few weeks early for a wine tasting which was a wonderful experience as well. And we actually ordered a wine with diner that we hadn't experienced at the tasting based on the recommendation of our waiter and it too was excellent.
