This restaurant was bizarre. I booked it for me and my Husband for Valentine’s Day whilst visiting Rome. I was hoping for the true Italian hospitality that had so often been commented on in reviews. We were sadly disappointed, the restaurant changed hands recently and we arrived at the restaurant early thinking it would buzzing and the owner would be there to greet us with a smile and a glass of vino..... this was not the case. The young man serving was rushing around setting the tables up, there was no romantic ambience and he sat us in a corner next to the toilets which smelt revolting. We moved tables which was much better, no smell but the service was bizarre. The starter was €14 and what a rip off! The mussels were cold, I got about 4 in total and the rest was rocket leaves. The pasta dishes we had were tasty but again Luke warm and we had asked if I neede anything with mine as a side dish, the server told us .... yes.... potatoes. They never arrived until after our pasta was finished and my husband was served his main a beef dish which was tasty but I was served a plate of potatoes! Random we thought! The wine was nice but expensive. If we hadn’t had our 50% discount we would most certainly have been very very disappointed.
Food was very good and friendly service.
Ristorante piccolo e curato. Piatti buoni, abbondanti e con ingredienti freschi e genuini. Simpatia, gentilezza e disponibilità dei proprietari. Dolce preparato al momento. Sconto the fork applicato regolarmente.
Extremely good value for money. Great food and service.
Host was very nice and helpful, great ambience with all sorts of locals and the chef makes great pasta. Definitely would come back to this place when in Rome.
Friendly and excellent service with very good food. Really enjoyed going to a truly local and non-tourist trap restaurant in Rome. Would not think twice about returning. Overall value is excellent.
Buona la cucina
Todo muy rico!!
Ottimo filetto. Personale cordiale.
Super simpatici, super chef, super guanciale
We were happy to find this restaurant, friendly personnel and a good atmosphere. Food and wine were very nice and we had a lot of choice between typical Italian dishes (not expensive). In my opinion a very good restaurant outside the most touristic part of Rome, where locals meet eachother (menu is only in Italian, but the waiter is happy to explain).
So expensive buttati the food is vero delicious
Wonderful atmosphere matched with good food. It was our top choice in Rome!
Lovely evening yet again with Il Covo. Great menu with several fish and pasta options, also lamb featured. Great, great service and nice wine list.
Very good and very nice staff
Lovely place lovely food and really friendly and helpful staff
Great place! Very friendly staff. Amazing food. And very affordable.
Great little restaurant. Food and service were excellent. I wish the wine selection could have been a bit more elaborate.
A wonderful family owned restaurant, who puts love into their food. Beautiful presentation and you get a lot for your money.
Charming atmosphere even for a Monday night. Willing to cater to our needs. Would highly recommend everything we ordered. Great evening.
Really fantastic, creative menu and excellent service! Love this place!
Pretentious and sickly food, lovely and friendly waitress, on a dirty street off the track with nothing to see.
Limited menu. Very mediocre food
Great attentive service, quality food and great choice
Lovely food & service excellent
Excellent meal with good service. Nice setting and definitely a fine meal
Amazing food!! The pasta was to die for. Our 8 year old son is a bit picky about pasta and sauce, but what they made for him disappeared in short order. The service was wonderful and the experience overall was great. Highly recommend!
The service was amazing and authentic and the dinning, equally so.
Lovely little restaurant with a nice atmosphere and very friendly staff! The food was very good and we were happy that we chose this restaurant
Beautiful spot, and excellent, creative menu!
The food was good! Apetizer was very good. Then I choose Salmone in crosta di patate and it was 5/10. Not fantastic, but good! The desert was 7/10. The service was slow, but ok. Loved the place and the atmosphere. Location is also good!
For our lunch before the Borghese Museum was perfect at Il Covo. We were the only non-Italian in the entire restaurant. Excellent food.
Food was not more than fine. Side dishes came 10min after main dish arrived. Diserts tasted like they were bought somewere not a home made.
Very nice restaurant, quiet and romantic. Perhaps a bit empty, but it was a Thursday night. The food was well prepared and presented, but the dishes were somewhat unorthodox as every single one contained fresh fruit. Maybe not to everyone's taste. Really good wine and grappa, and the personnel was very helpful with the selection.
Wonderful family restaurant. Would love to go back. The Swordfish with a pistachio will remain long in my memory.
